Alright, here's a quiz for everyone...

How many people have seen Camaros, equipped with the 4 speaker AM/FM Casette, WITHOUT the ERS logo??

Yes, they are out there...mine doesn't have one. It never did either...my mom bought it new, and the ERS is listed on the window sticker. So was the guy putting logos on the dash asleep (or drunk ) when mine came through??

There could be any number of reasons why you did not get the emblem. They could have run out of the a supply of emblems, that year or specific radio option did not come with a emblem (for whatever reason), someone at the dealer took it , or like you said, they emblem guy was drunk

My car was built in March of '89, so it was approximately 1/2 way through the year. Maybe the plant did run out for a short period of time...I doubt anyone took it though LOL. Every time I have taken one off a dash, it has always left the adhesive on, and would probably mark the dash if someone tried to take it off???

Now before anyone here accuses me of wrecking good dashes in a junkyard, let me just say a decent 1 I always leave alone....so has anyone ever seen 1 without the logo, or is my super-duper, Medium Grey Metallic 2.8 RS a rarity??

 

Jason, if you give me a mailing address, I'll drop mine in an envelope for ya. Now that Justin has told me there was one for Firebirds, I'm on the lookout for one of those Hopefully, the dealer will still carry them.

The Pontiac dealer may still be able to locate one...I know the Camaro ERS logo is still available through Classic Industries for about 10 bucks.

Actually, I kinda like the cleaner look of my dash without the logo I still wish I knew if there were several '89s that didn't have the logo, or if my car was just a freak thing!

 

My 89 Camaro does not have the ERS logo eighter. I got that weird stereo with the tiny Bose speakers in the factory kickpanels and it had 6x9in speakers in boxes in the trunk. The radio was replaced befroe I got it though, so I'm not sure what it looked like. The car never had speakers in the dash and there weren't any in the sailpanels, not even mounts for them. So what option did I get?

 

Does your car still have the RPO sheet in it?

It still has the sheet, so I guess I can run all the codes through the RPO decoder. I just thought someone may have this option too and knew what it was. Is there a certain letter or number radio option codes start with so can narrow it down a bit?

 

OK here is what I found out:
UQ1 : RADIO PROVISIONS, FOR STEREO
UQ4 : SPEAKER SYSTEM, BOSE, 4
U75 : ANTENNA, POWER, RADIO

Then ther is the weird one, UU8 it was not in the thirdgen.org database, so I went looking and found on iroc.fbody.com that it was an option on 1990 Camaros not 1989, it says:
UU8 : RADIO, STEREO, DELCO BOSE, CLOCK, SEEK/SCAN
So what is it?

Also here are some RPO codes that I could not find:
E7Z
WY8
1AZ
1SZ
Any help with those??

i have an 89 rs with sail panel and dash speakers, am fm cass. and a standard antenna witout the logo.....

 

I have a sport coupe without ERS, speakers in the standard dash pad 4X6 and b pillar 6X9 positions.

mine came with a standard antenna and a cassette deck, no EQ.
