These ? This is what my current dash setup looks like. I ordered those 40 dollar guage overlays just to see what they look like. Did anybody install them in a 90-92 car yet ?

The problem was I hit some hard times (financially) and wasn't able to order the stuff and have time to do it. Looking for a new job was more important at the time. I had no idea you actually went ahead and powdercoated them already. I'm sorry. I still need powdercoated brackets if you still have them! lol And now I can make you a LED kit since I have the boards and LEDs available...

As far as better pics, I'll have to borrow a digital camera again. That pic was taken at least over a year ago. It still looks the same now, it's just that I have silver overlays from MacEwen instead of white. It looks killer during the day when you turn them on. I think I might stick with the LEDs because it looks to me like the "non lit, daytime" design of those indiglo gauges looks... cheesy to say the least. I like the simple but bold look of the the stock guages.

The new reverse indiglow gauges look much better. I am probably one of the first people here to get them installed and I must say they do look good. Additionally I painted my needles red, because I dont think the new gauges would look good with yellowish needles.

I don't have any pictures that came out yet . Its sort of hard to take pictures of something that is glowing. When was the last time you called them? When I spoke with them they said everything usually ships out within 24 hours.

However I would recommend that you remove your old gauge faces even though SR Motorsports says not to. My problem was that I couldn't get the new overlays to line up perfectly with the various message lights. I just removed the old gauge faces and replaced the light bulbs that light them up with colored ones.

But if you do it that way you will have to remove your gauge needles which will look bad *** if you paint them red but if you screw things up your gauges will read wrong.

This is most likely what everyone ordering those gagues will have to do. I noticed in the post at the top that noone mentioned the various revisions of the '90-'92 gague cluster. McKewan (sp?) ran into the same problem with his white face gague overlays. As people bought them and tried to install them he found out that the increments of the ticks for the mph and rpm sweeps had several versions. Many people who ordered the first production run could not get the overlays to line up properly or light in several areas.

Hey Odyssey -

will just changing out the cluster bulbs for blue LED's give the same effect as your cluster?

Here's my tach, sorry for the bad pic.

Yes. I'm sure you can get a similar effect, but ONLY by adding more bulbs. Before I switched to LEDs my dash was red. I added about 6 extra bulbs and it looked really good. So if you do that, you will probably get the same effect in blue.

You could never get the same effect... The overlays I installed look better than anything you could do with lcd's (no offinse).

Now if someone could check out the following thread and help me get my speedometer working correctly I would be greatful.

Go check it out I replied to it....

I do think you can get a very similar effect just not the same color. When I had the red bulbs in there it looked really good, bright and uniform... just red!
