Sdpc Clearance problems Sr

Has any one with the Sdpc combo with a super ram had any runner bolt problems on the intake bolts?
Mine can be cleared out and aligned but Im wondering if I ever take the Sr off in the car is it going to be hard.. As there is lil to work with grinding into the runner and intake to clear the runner curve from intake bolt's etc..

Do a search for posts on this subject by OMINOUS_87 he's got a superram on a SDPC base. In one of his posts he told about clearancing bolts and other modd that had to be done to get it to fit.

Here is another way to solve the problem:

I took a rotary file and lowered the surface and the used a countersink and a tapered head 5/16" allen head bolt. Now the bolt head is flush. (had to do this on two of them) Walla...problem solved
Look closely at picture again and you will see it.

Wow, I see the craze is catching on.

There is about 6 of us now running around with the Superram upper on a SDPC base.

Yeah, I remember being the first to sit down at the bench with all the money invested in the parts, only to realize they didnt fit, LOL.

That feeling in your stomach is pretty uncomfy when you realize you got problems.

looks like DD has taken a different route then me, but none the less success is success.

how far can you go (performance wise 1/4mile) with a superram and vortec heads? Those heads flow like 239 on intake but poorly on exhaust. You can port them out alittle but how much is gained? You spend the money on expensive high flowing intake only to put it on cheap heads? Just dont know about that. But i am curious cuz if it can be done, I might just save up and buy TPI vortec crate motor and put superram on that.

Could you use fastburn heads on this intake? Those things flow abit better than vortecs.

I don't know if Vortec's are considered cheap after all the work..
I bought the heads as I could have built lil by lil other than spending a lot for a bare set right now of say Tf's Afr's

Mine DD ported them very nicely.. The Exhaust side is much better now.. vs. orignal..

The base is cheaper than most others.. But yeah still a lot of money.. As there is none used for sale.. So were hit with the new price.. The intake is pretty large.. ? is.. is there really a difference on honing the base.. When you have a ported polished etc etc Sr.. As a friend of mine noticed nothing.. I don't know if it's b/c he did not make any other changes or better improvement's but he seen no better et.. etc etc.. But that was back in the day.. But he still used some nice afr 195's

I was ok with the gains Space had with a stock tpi set up.. Vs what I had in mind with my combo.. Using the Sr 58mm.. Combined it has to be more than a 80ft lbs tq and hp Im not sure what was the vortec head with that test 50hp gain?

The heads will run 12's we know that..

The other Alum head I know that fit's the base is the Etec is it?

Or get the Dart/WP Sportsman II heads (like I did) that have the FastBurn style chamber and still be able to use "regular" SBC intakes (SDPC/Vortec only manifolds aren't required with those heads)....
