yep that was similar to what i was talking about.
as far as the link, i don't know what to tell you. i downloaded the pdf file for using adobeacrobat and it's there under chevrolet. just went to brembo's main website and worked my way in.
nothing tricky....if you still can't figure it out i'll try tomorrow when i get some more time.

ok well i kept looking, the only 3rdgen mention i noticed was here:
http://www.brembo.com/pdf/eCatalog.pdf
that seems to be only rotors, and drums, not a brake upgrade, or a braking system. from what i can tell, unless you have a firehawk (note above post ) brembo doesn't make a package for our cars that will upgrade anything but the rotors.

Brembo are some high dollar brakes but extremely good. They come stock on some Porsche, Ferrari and other exotic cars; also on some sport bikes.
If you got the cash, do it.

How does Baer compare against Brembo? I want to get the Extreme Baer Claw kit for my front. 6 piston caliper, $4100 for the complete front kit.

well it's at least twice the price for the same setup all because of the name....
yeah the 6 piston alcon calipers are sweet.........but way to much upkeep for a street car. i'd love to have them and would probably deal with the beding process every few weeks if they were cheaper. but it's alot of hassle for a non race car.
hope you get them though as it would be cool to see; i don't think i've ever seen a thirdgen with more than 2 piston.

check out there site, the bedding process on all brakes like the alcon setups with the higher number of piston calipers are insane........ not to mention they say you should have a solit caliper with nothing more than slots if your mainly street. meaning that your going to go through calipers like no tomorrow.
heck the 2 piston caliper upkeep is bad enough. definately sweet setup; just to much work and money for the performance that won't be used on anything but a track!

yeah, 1-le is alright; but for looks and performance they just don't cut it.
considering if you do some shopping around you can get a baer setup with a few options to keep it looking nice at the same price and just a tad more to make the brakes look awsome. all of which would cost alot more down the road to do with the 1-le.
stock for stock, baer's base model and the 1-le kit just don't look the same so i can't see picking up the 1-le. but it's nice that there is the option for those who don't like the "show" look of baer.
so far the best deal i've found is 850 for the 13" kit.....of course this is without the two peice rotor or the powdercoated caliper. but it is crossdrilled/slotted/zinc washed rotors and looks alot better...now if you can find the 1-le for a bit less i could see your point. subtract 15 dollars for the 12 inch and i think it's a great deal.
figure 1200 for a 13" kit with all the goodies and you can't beat it.

My friend with the 82 Trans Am has the Baer kit on the front and back. He got the slotted rotors, but didn't get them zinc washed which he wishes he did since the zinc washed ones won't get rust colored.

yep, and it isn't that much more. like i said the cheapest price i found included all those options as upposed to the 1-le setup. makes a big difference down the road in looks.
but you have to care about that stuff, although for a cheaper price i can't see why anyone would pass it up. it did take me alot of searching though as most places do sell them a little higher than the 1-le.

kandied,
can you PM me or e-mail me where you found that price for the track kit??
i know we aren't supposed to list other companies other than sponsers here... so i wont ask you to do that...
also has anyone priced out the baer kit? i really don't have the time to.

not a problem.........i sent you a pm.
if anyone finds a better deal or knows of some prices pm me so we can compare. i too would like to know if i've found the lowest price. i don't mind paying what something is worth; but some of these places charge outrageous prices just because they think no one will notice. i know since i started looking my price has dropped 300 bucks! that's more mod money...

Here are some more pics of my Brembo Brakes:
This is a pic of my 1LE rear:
The Brembo's are 13x1.25in, the 1LE Rears are 11.7x0.79in Going 60mph wearing the 5-pt harness, you can slam on the brakes and it feels like the force is going to rip Recaro seat right out of it's mounts:rockon:

alright, i've gotten way to many pm's about the price and i don't want to have any problems with any of the head people on this site as i've already been warned once for posting cheaper prices..........
i have no problem telling you guys what i found out; but if you want to know what i found then i want to know what you found. it's only fair and if your interested in them anyway it shouldn't be a problem. this way i won't have to send out 30 pms and answer a ton of email. afterall someone may find it cheaper, i know i haven't checked every place.

Well, it seems that Camarotech was the company that was selling the Firehawk Hubs and the caliper mounting bracket. Are there any other sources of this hub and mounting bracket? Any way to get in contact with the guys at Camarotech? If we cant find those, I doubt if the Brembo brake system will be able to be reproduced
