Submit Your Thirdgen Videos Here!

Okay guys, here's the deal. I got permission from TGO to make a new official thirdgen video, and I would like all of your input! I have a few requests from anyone who wishes to be a part of it.

1) Please submit any videos of your thirdgen, and your (user)name if you would like it on the screen when I show the video.

In other words, I would like to have a section of short clips of TGO members with their names (or usernames) somehow associated with them. If you would like to submit it privately, just IM me at the screename in my sig.

2) Please submit links to your favorite thirdgen videos in general.

I also will somehow work the rest of them in there too.

3) Also, I am open to suggestions for theme music.

Basically, what I would like to know is what you guys would like to see in this movie. I already have a rather large collection of thirdgen videos, but I would like to offer you guys the opportunity to submit your own ideas.

...Most importantly...
This is your forum to let me know what you think!

Mods: I have permission to run this thread, so please don't lock it on me

Awesome, can't wait to see it.

It really depends on how long this thread stays alive. I would say a couple weeks probably.

Action shots are always good, but I would do whatever shows off your car the most. If you have a big engine, show it off, spin the tires, do something like that. If you have a tiny 305 like me, show off the body work, the interior and exhaust.... get a pretty girl on the hood as a distraction.

Ultimately, whatever makes your car look awesome.

Do you want clips to work with or final product?

I've got a video I made with a friend that has my car racing around/burning out/ect, and his doing offroading.....

I reimport all my car video off my digi camcorder and send it that way, or I can just splice the camaro footage from the movie i've already made with the music and transitions, ect.....

Of coarse i'll have to use someone to host cause I only have a few megs of webspace.

Like I said, I will wait until the thread dies down... at this rate it looks as if you have a little while.

Clips to work with would probably be better. If it's already got the transitions and stuff in it, it makes it a bit more difficult to work with. Whatever is easier for you, I can work with it.

Just IM me for webspace, I am already hosting for some others on patdesiato.com as you can see above.

Ahahah, sounds more like the background beat for the V6 than the 305.

All those vids are pretty cool, some of which kind of weak, won't mention any names, but still cool to see some action photage of rides.

If you're actually are doing this, let me know when you finish it up.

P.S.... Like I mentioned above, if you have a 305 and need something to show off, you could always send a pic/vid with a hot girl in it.

Keep the videos coming, I am getting quite the collection.

You can use whatever you want out of those. Even though my poor, poor, lame cammed 350 is getting a healthy dose of cam and ported head this summer.

For a theme song, are you going to do like the other 2 thirdgen videos and do the entire video to one song? Or transition through a few songs? Here are some that I think would make good songs for the video:

Lacuna Coil - Heaven's a Lie (rock)
Rob Dougan - Furious Angels(from the matrix reloaded, the mix with no lyrics)
Ra - Do You Call My Name (rock)
Foggy - Come into my dream (techno)
AFI - The Leaving Song part 2 (punkrockish)
Chevelle - The Red

I ~REALLY~ think Lacuna Coil - Heaven's A Lie would make a badass song for a video, and Rob Dougan - Furious Angels is probably kickass too.

okay, i've encoded my clips (and a sample of what I did with the clips) in mpeg at 30fps 640x480. I put you in my aim list, but with my work schedule I doubt we will see each other.....perhaps you can setup a FTP server or something?

I could setup a ftp download site, but my IP changes randomly so I don't know if it would be the same by the time you try to get the files....

I'll edit this post with an IP address after I setup the server and hopefully you can get the files from me

Can I submit some video of Revlimit and I drifting? I'm like 99% done with a video trailer for the club, and I wouldnt mind donating some un-edited portions of the video to be in the video you guys are making. Lemme know if its cool and I'll upload some mpeg's to my server. I also got some video of my 91 Z, but only parked at a cruze. Sorry all the footage was taken with an Analog Camcorder, so the quality isn't that great.

BTW, What is the deadline to submit stuff because I still have a bunch of Hi8 tapes I need to encode. Thanks!

I haven't really decided how I want to do the music yet. I will *cough* buy these songs today.

I haven't had any luck with the ftp site yet, it doesn't look like it's going to work. I am online pretty much all day and evening so if you can catch up to me we can take care of it over AIM.

I'll hold off until at least the end of next week. There are a few others that are going to be sending them to me a little later too.

Yes, if you like em, please submit them. I am going to be waiting a couple more weeks before I start working on this.

I'm interested in how you mounted the camera in that location, please explain it to me or show me some pictures.

Also has anyone ever filmed from the nose of the car? If so, please explain how you did it......I've seen those 'Getaway in Stockholm' vids and they have some really cool footage taken from some low point on the front of their cars, I wanna do it too

I have another of it on a dyno, not much, but could be used for filler video, I just have to compress it.

http://josh.swoca.net/board/mrdude/minicam/

some pics are of the cameras perspective, others are of the camera setups.

its a minicam (they're only $35, and $25 on sale).... inside the car, i run a VCR off a power inverter.

extremely cheap and simple... exactly what you need if you're planning on doing stuff that can potentially wreck the camera.... noone wants to hang a $300+ camcorder 3" from the ground at 90... even if it has a piece of lexan infront.

I might have failed to mention that my upcoming song is more anti-305. Well, not really anti, but it kinda points out the flaws of the 305 TBI

Well, not everyone has access to a studio and whatnot, I didn't know if you were just going to sing it into your computer mic or actually set it to music. Either way it'd be funny, I just wasn't sure.
