Put Lights In My RAII Hood...

I posted up I was thinkin about doin this a lil while ago, well I decided to do it. I think it looks sweet. I know a lot of you guys hate the RAII hood, but I like it a lot, and I thought this addition would make it stand out at night, and it does. I tried a red and blue bulb also, but the amber/amber looked the best. I couldn't get a good shot of it at night, so I put the flashers on and snapped it while they were really lit up (yes, they do each blink with the turn signals as well), so they're generally not this bright, just wanted a good shot. What do you think?

Thats a cool shot. Are you gonna keep them so they blink with the turn signals or are you gonna wire them by themselves so they're on all the time?

They are on all the time, they're 1157 bulbs. They are wired in with the parking lights, so they are on all the time when the parkers are on, and then blink brighter with the signals.

As per Nolanr's request, here's the installation pics. Here's what I did. I had a couple extra parking light assemblies lyin around, so I cut the backing off of it where the bulb turns into it, and then bondo'd that to the center hole in the hood. I then took some extra rear tail light sockets that I had, and wired them both in to the parking and turnsignal wiring, and ran the wires up the drivers side of the hood from the hinge, by drilling two holes next to each other and running a wire-tie through there to hold the wires tight and in place. Works great, and the sockets twist right out when I need them to.

The part of the parking lights that I bondoed and painted:

The light through the grille close up:

Both sides in place (you can see the wire tie in the middle):

And the wires run down the side of the hood:

I agree with you. I would love to see some pics from under the hood to get an idea on how you did this. I have been thinking of doing this with my hood as well but with either red or blue neons. Maybe blue neons to match the ones I have in the nose of my car. So please take some pics and show with the rest of us.

I found your cardomain site and saw how you put the lights inthe hood. Kind of interesting on how you did it. I will see what I can do about putting the neons in that area. If anyone one else is interested just check out this link.
