Speaker box
This is my latest creation. This is also my first box made for a 3rd Gen. I have made lots for trucks and just plain old ones that go in trunks of various makes and models. I am putting this in the area where the back seat used to be. Just so you all know, I have not had a back seat for a few years now. So its not like I removed the rear seats just to put a speaker box in there. Its a sealed bandpass housing two 10" JBL subs. I am going to use an Alpine mono sub amp. It should hit pretty hard!!! I am pretty anxious to finish it up. All I need to do is drop in the speakers and seal up and secure the top tommorow!!! Will post another pic once the box is in the car. Hope you like.

Well the box is just a tad to big for where it lives!! I don't have the ability to recline my front seats back much anymore!! That doesn't bother me any, but it might other people, so take that into consideration before you build anything.

I'll take a few tomorrow. I haven't covered it yet because I am going to be changing out the carpeting soon and I will cover the box to match. I have yet to decide on the interior carpet color as well. Maybe grey...maybe black.

Yeah, 4th gen console. I got it out of an 02 Trans AM. I believe all 4th gen cars from 98-02 were the same console. And it has TWO (2) cupholders so the remote never has to leave its home. And under the ashtray is where the switch for the rear hatch lives.

The center console bolts, literally right to where the stock console bolts under the opening part. As for the front, I haven't found a need to secure it to anything, it doesn't move at all. As you can see from the pics, I trimmed my stock console to fit around the new console. I have researched and found that the Pontiac 3rd Gen Firechicken radio pods/box will install into the cars and looks pretty sharp from the few pics I have seen of people installing them in Camaros. I do know it is not a straight bolt in, it requires some drilling and maybe fabricating a few simple brackets. I have a radio box and just ran out of time to try to install it. Now I think when I get time, I may just make a new radio box out of MDF or fiberglass...
But the center console goes right in and if you have a bird, your in like Flynn!!! If you have a Camaro, you need to simply trim the stock radio box out of the center console, takes about 20min if you take your time and don't **** it up...

I wish I could help you out there, but I am leaving very early in the morning to go back to work! I am a Marine and must report back to the base, don't have much computer access and my car stays here in S. Fl while I am away. Good luck to you, and if I get a chance to get some pics, I will dig up this post. Later...
I think it has more space BTW and it has slots for a more organized CD storage...Plus there is a coin holder!!!

great job man! that looks excellent. im looking to do the same thing to my car but i want it a little more low key, its just going to be an amp/n20 bottle rack but something that deletes the rear seats and looks good (factory)
but i want some more info on that rollbar....how many points, where does it mount to and did you do it yourself?
