Official Track Information: Rt 41 Dragstrip, June 11th
Bear with me while I try to make sense of all this. I had this all figured out in the previous thread, but it seems to have vanished with the system crash we had. So here we go again. Please read through the whole post before posting ANYTHING. The only thing you should be doing in this post is signing up. And only sign up if you can afford to go. I don’t want a list of 50 people who say they will go but have not paid. So when you pm me regarding payment, then you can sign up.
DO NOT POST ANYTHING ELSE HERE, anything else you need can be handled by pm’ing me.
1) The official date for this event is June 11th 2005. That is a Saturday for all you calendar challenged people.
2) The fee for this spectacular day is only 50. 50 bucks to race all day.
3) We have the track from 8 in the morning to 4 in the after noon. We absolutely have to be cleaned up and out by 4:30, otherwise we pay a hefty fine.
4) We will do our own tech inspection. But be aware if they see anything that is obviously not safe, you will have to stop racing.
5) The track follow IHRA rules, so if you have any question on required safety equipment, please refer to those.
6) Last year everyone chipped in a brought food, water and such. It was very hot last year, the water helped keep us alive I think. So at the bare minimum, plan on bringing your own food and drink, if you can bring enough to pass around, that is even better. I have requested the food stand be closed that day (that made the rental a little cheaper). We should have at least 1 grill there like last year, so food that needs cooked is okay.
7) If you are inviting friends along, that is okay. But keep in mind that you are responsible for them, if they are out of hand and are asked to leave, you will be also.
That is all I can think of right now, I will amend things as needed.
In closing, lets try to make this better than last year, over half of the people who said they would attend did not. It was the most fun I have had in a while, for 50 bucks you can run all day and meet some great people.
We still need 2 more people to pay for the down payment. I am keeping a spreadsheet of people who have paid and such, so no worries there.
I will accept paypal, money orders, check(not the ones that bounce), and cash if you are privileged enough to know me.
We need 25 people to make this happen, so lets do it, dust the cobb webs off the wallets and sign up!!

For some clarification of rumors overheard from last years event.
This one floored me. Some people were not allowed to make as many runs as they wanted? Nonsense, everyone ran as they wished and there were even a couple of times the track fell silent, especially around bbq time :-) Easy way to find the truth is ask those who were there.
The $50 for the day. Yes we know $50 is alot of money. Where else can you run for a mere $50 a day and literally make as many runs as you can or want to? We are trying to make future money needs self supporting as far as track rentals go.
We are trying to make this a self sustaining event and have enough left over so that next years event down payment and food(grilling burgers/dogs/pop/water) can be paid for without individual members having to use their own money simply to make the event happen. (right now a few people have coughed up $$$ and will be reimbursed as possible)
As stated earlier, please contact Tim in the post above for payment options and do not post unless you have payed and are on Tim's list
thanks you and hoppe to see u there,
Jeremy

Raising money for once a year is tough enough, lol/ .
