4th gen HVAC vacuum lines

Does anyone have a PHOTO of the 4th gen vacuum lines and where they attach to the 4th gen connector, or a diagram? There are 6 connection points for the vacuum lines on the 4th gen switch and they are numbered 1-6. I know which 4th gen vacuum lines connect to the 3rd gen lines. I just need to know what positions the 3rd gen lines go on the 4th gen switch.

Did numerous searches. Theres nothing here that tells me what I need. All I'm looking for is a picture of the 4th gen tubes connected to the 4th gen HVAC selector.

2 - Purple
3 - Green
4 - Yellow
5 - Red
6 - Black

GM is really good about keeping color codes the same across models and years...

so with some luck, you can just match up the colors and it'll open the correct air doors.

Unfortunatley, I've heard the colors DONT match. Supposedly, the conversion from 3rd to 4th gen is:

3rd---------------------------4th

orange--------------------orange
tan-------------------------purple
no connection------------green
blue------------------------yellow
red-------------------------red
purple---------------------black

I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow to pillage some more parts off the only junked fourth gen within 100 miles. =P

Anyway, where is this bi-directional valve located at behind the dash, specifically?

That hvac diag looks familiar...

Faded.. I'm not sure on a4thgen but, other elder GM cars used on as well.
The corsica I pulled my hvac assy had on and it was located behind the radio area, against the firewall on the 'tube' that connected the floo5r ducting to the defrost ducting.
Lumina, GP, beretta (and forgetting some others) had the bi-level selector iirc.
the corsica was the only one I saw the vac servo up close and it appeared the same as whats on a 3rdgen in appearance.. aside from the extra vac line.
I'll say regardless of what you find to use.. it probably will need a 'custom' bracket of sorts to mount the servo.
The servo mod is on my mile liong 'round-to' list though...

Just my observance... could be far from reality...

You can get the adapters for the vac lines at you local auto parts store. They are the same ones that you would use under the hood.

Ok I found it. Got it off a 94 Camaro.

Yes it does need a custom mont. The 3rd gen one clipped on; the 4th gen one just slides on. I cut the plastic mounts off the 3rd gen servo and JB Welded them to the 4th gen unit.

Can someone elaborate on the green 4th gen vac line for me? What changes when the original actuator is replaced w/bi-directional one, and why would someone replace it with a bi-directional? So if this green line isn't used, does it effect anything on the 3rd gen hvac unit?

Thanks.
