I am buying a '91 Trans-Am in the next few weeks (From Fred91ta off this site)

I have two questions:

1. The car needs a rear spoiler, and I was going to go with the factory spoiler, but then I thought about the Fourth Gen Spoiler. I was wondering if the fourth gen spoiler would look any better than the original. I like the original, but was thinking of doing something different, but I have not seen a third gen TA with a fourth gen Spoiler before, so not sure if it will look good. I am looking throught he links of the above vendors, but have not seen a pic for a fourth gen spoiler on a third gen car.

2. I am going to get a Ramair Hood for it, and I see two different choices. one is from the 97-99 models (which is smaller) and the second is from the 2001-2003 (which is bigger). I like the way both look, with the exception of the second one looking a little to big on the car. Seems to rise a good bit off the hood, and I do not like that. But I can not find the first choice (smaller one) with a working airbox. Was wondering if the bigger one (with airbox) looks good on the third gen TA. I again am looking at the vendors above, and it looks like the later model hood does not seem to go well witht he curves of the car, but I emailed the vendor about the smaller hood, and they said it is not a working hood (with airbox), so I am guessing that means it is just for looks. I want a working hood. I guess it will boil down to what I would like to see, but I just need more input before I buy one.

I also had a question about going from 700r4 to a T-565, but I found my answers on how to do that.

If anyone has any answers or pic (of spoiler or hood), you can post them here, or email them to me.

Thank you in advance.

Look up Firebird383 on the site. Then go to his Cardomain site and check out his 'Bird. His has a 4th gen spoiler and the '91-'92 front and rear bumper covers. Looks very good imo.

As for the hood, I have a RA1 for my '91 and I like the hood the best. The RA2 looks way to large and out of place to me.

RA1= the smaller hood?

Is it a working hood with airbox?

It's hard to get a good idea from my car since the spoiler has never been the same color as the car. Now that everything is painted, I'll have some pics up in the next week or so with the spoiler bolted back on.

Here is a pre-paint pic. I have 91-92 T/A-GTA taillights, so it should look similar to yours.

ty for the pic, looking forward to seeing it once it is painted. That actually looks pretty good on the car. If you get some pics from the side, I would like to see those. Thanks.

Yes the RA1 is the smaller hood. No, it's not a functional hood. Mine's from ASCD (look up at sponsor ad's). Other's may be functional, but ASCD's is not.

Sorry, I've been busy putting the car together lately. Here is a pic like above, only all the same color:

jay92,85,79 from the boards painted it in his garage. It looks awesome, especially for a garage paintjob. He is a bodyman by trade and did my car as a side job- but he's opening up his own shop this summer.

The spoiler is a ramairhood.com 4th gen spoiler, but I think it's exactly the same as all the other guys sell. I actually bought it from the TGO classifieds a couple years ago.

I personally think the 4thgen spoiler is too curvy over the rear quarters. I'd have to see it in person though.

I'd stick with the RA1 hood as well. Meh. 91 TA's are awesome either way.
