Well, I use Simple Green Get a toothbrush (one you dont use on your teeth ) and a rag, put it on "Foam, Spray" and just go nuts, spray everything...

I also use Eagle One Tire Wet on the hoses, and other black plastics.. keeps em shiny and seems to last awhile. Here is a pic after the the L98 Head swap, and I cleaned it up

Yeah, its also a good time to tighten hose clamps, and look for leaks and such also.

I just used the spray hose at the do-it-yourself car wash on the rinse/engine clean/and then the spotless rinse. I let it dry overnight and then used Eagle 1 Tire gloss on everything.......

I just pull mine every now and then and clean it up. Seriously, once it's cleaned up it's not hard to keep up with it. I really do pull mine every couple of years during the winter just to repaint and clean really well.

Here's what a .79 cent can of engine cleaner from Walmart can do to a stock engine that has 125,000 miles on it.

It's not REAL purdy, but it only took me 5 minutes to get it from drab to fab.

Depends all on the results you want VS the techniques you use.

i will add to the list. i like start with a good engine degreser, i use STP. then i grab some warm water, some armorall, rags and a toothbrush and go to town. it can be time consuming....but well worth it. the biggest pain here in CT is after the winter....grrr! but this is my daily driver and the bay shines in person. hey its six i know, but looks pretty good for a daily driver....evvery winter, every summer with 92,000 on the clock

Thanks for the compliments guys. recaro xfire, I spend a lot of time at the chrome shop, shopping at summit and some of the work is fabbed billet aluminum. If you need any specifics feel free to email me.
