Car is too loud!
Hi,
my swap is done (350, ported dart alu heads, weiand team g, holley double pumper, rough comp cam etc.)...
...and now the car is way too loud for this country (germany)
setup:
hooker headers
carsound high flow cat (thought it would quiet it down a bit
)
hooker aerochamber
all wrapped in a 3" stainless steel pipe
does anybody have an idea how to silent that one down without changing the exhasut setup??
something like a silencer, any tricks to mod a muffler or fabricate something in the pipe...?
please help, because the car runs great and I'd like to enjoy it, but now I always have to think about the cops...and that sucks!
greetings
Simon

lol, i would suggest putting a bullet muffler inplace of the cat or if you have to leave the cat on, put the muffler right after the car. Youll only loose a few hp, but it should quite it down alot

the cat quiets the car alot more than the bullet muffler would.
I'd suggest, if you don't need a cat, put cheap muffler where the cat is. It'll quiet it more than the cat does. Like a flowmaster or something.
Or keep the cat, and add a bullet muffler after it, it should quiet it.

Stay away from those CC inserts. I have tried them. They really screw up the tune on a engine by causing way to much back pressure. I could not lean the engine enough to keep it from loading up. I went to the DynaTech cone inserts and they work pretty good with minimun tuning problems.
