its probably only gonna put out somewhere around 200 w/rms per channel if that. I have the 1000 watt. It doesnt do bad at all but if the speakers can handle and are rated for something different youll probably get the best results looking for whats recommended. yes it will be enough but are you just looking for enough.

its garbage. i've got an actual 1200 watt (RMS not max) amp im trying to sell. also thats at 12.5 volts, at 14.4 it puts out close to 1400. 250 shipped if you're interested, i've got plenty of pics.

heres the link if you want to check it out. its a pretty serious amp, and mine is in brand new condition, was in my car for a few months but there isnt a scratch on it.

perfects are nice woofers, they'd really come alive with a more potent amp.

200 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
250 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
It's not stable bridged below 4 ohms.
Don't worry about THD because odds are you're not going to be able to hear it unless it's completely horrible especially for a subwoofer amp.

I'm going to venture to say something. Sony amps are not necessarily crap. Sure, they are marketed with maximum output but they’re still a decent amp for the money. $179 for a 500x1 amp isn’t that bad in today’s retail world (it is a pretty bad deal when considering buying stuff online). Unlike their speakers/heads, I haven’t heard any stories of a Sony amp dying.

I see them all the time. Biggest problem is just bad build quality. Bad solder connections are VARY common, not just at the input jacks but all over the PCB. Keep in mind, and I've warned before, all I see all day is broken crap, makes me a little jaded towards the units I see a lot more of. And I see way to many Sonys.....

sony is garbage...i had a 1000 2 channel from them and i hated it. it truly only put out about 165 rms per channel which is complete sh*t. sony is decent "entry level" or low price equipment, but if your looking for good sound go out and spend the money for an audiobahn, kicker, or even kenwood. in the end it will be much more worth it

you say it's garbage, then you say it's decent. make up your mind, and no it isn't decent entry level stuff. It's just plain indecent. Sony should appear as ****

i have made up my mind.....for my type of use or my interest it GARBAGE...but for someone looking for a starter system its decent...........and I DID say AUDIOBAHN, i have been using it for the past two years as well as a few friends of mine and it sounds great. A friend of mine is currently running two 15" linear compressions with a 1800 watt amp, Diamond audio and kicker midrange with JL amps and it sounds better than any setup i have heard.....Many shops around hear will tell you audiobahn is one of the best selling brands.

why? because they sound like ***. the immortals can get sort of loud, but the sound quality still sucks. the amps for the most part dont do their rated power, look stupid, and have a rather high thd (not that you hear much difference in THD with a sub amp)
one of the best selling brands at a local shop, i can buy that. lot of people think bling bling, chrome and flames = teh deebees
if its the best you've heard, you need to hear more

800 watt orion $165
400 watt PG $180
600 watt PG $166
for starters. I need more info on the subs to be able to more accuratly suggest amps. I need coil count (I think your subs are single voice coil) and coil raiting (ie 2 or 4 ohms).

This is all the info I needed
Most of the amps I linked to are way overkill for your needs. You should be looking at a 600-700 watt amp tops.
You're also looking for an amp that's 2 ohms stable. This is pretty easy to do.
If I were you I would jump all over this orion. Car domain is getting rid of old orion stock so you can save almost $300 by buying this amp ($200 vs the normal $500). Orion makes good stuff and this amp will give each of your subs a nice clean 200 watts at the minimum.
This little bugger will give each of your subs 200 watts for $80
Poke around. Look for something that puts out between 400 and 600 watts @ 2 ohms and you're pretty much good to go.

the rockford punch p3001 would be a perfect match. its rated at 300x1 watts rms @ 2ohms. wiring the two 4 ohm subs your have parallel would create a 2 ohm load making a perfect match. i found this on sounddomain for $199. heres the link http://www.cardomain.com/item/ROCP3001
that or u could try the AUDIOBAHN yes AUDIOBAHN a8005dn which sounddomain has on sale for about $290 http://www.cardomain.com/item/ABNA8005DN

Sounddomain is great in that they have good deals sometimes (see the orion H2 subs and some orion amps they have on a huge sale). For every day shopping their normal prices are comparable to most internet retailers but you can find better deals elsewhere.
If I were you I would seriously consider buying this orion.
Here are a few more that all put out 1,000+ for under $200
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3918
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2424
Basically, get DEI amps aka PPI, orion, viper, directed, etc. They will all perform very well.
If you're worried about buying a refurbished amp then you will have to realize that you really can't get a new amp that will really put out 1,000+ watts for under $300 new. Cardomain is perfect proof of this. The cheapest amp that actually puts out 1,000+ power (1,400 or so @ 1 ohm) that I can think of is ED's NINe.1 which costs $350 new.

The only reason why these amps fall below $200 is because they’re all refurbished. Ike sound is already a major discounter (they sell on their site at their e-bay prices which are about 1/2 off normal retail). Add that on to the refurbished status of the item and you get an insane discount.

dont mean to come off as a know-it-all, although i realize i can. but seriously, go to any dedicated car audio forum, and make a post asking how audiobahn compares to jl, diamond, soundsplinter, stereo integrity, adire, re, incriminator audio, ascendant, crossfire, any of the companys that offer great sounding products at reasonable prices.
better yet, ride with your friend with the audiobahn system to a high end audio shop, and listen to a properly installed system in a car. (the listening room if theres nothing else)
i would be wary of purchasing an ikesound refurb. the amps case will usually look used, and there have been a lot of horror stories from that place, the customer service is terrible. but, that orion amp or the nine.1 would be great choices, i still have a nine.1 but im hanging onto it for someone
the orion will do well over 1200 watts rms as will the nine.1.
also, i wasn't in any way talking about spl when i was comparing audiobahn to the more notable brands in that price range. i like it loud and all, but im a sound quality guy all the way, as should be evidenced by the gear i run in my car. actually i was referring to the ****-poor listening quality of audiobahn products, i prefer to have tight, accurate sounding music as opposed to loud and distorted. although most of that stuff also owns audiobahn in output levels as well.

im not comparing it to jl or n e thing like that nor did i ever post that, i fully understand that there is better sound out there, but for the price audiobahn is not bad at all....he was looking for a resonably priced amp........what you like is what u like, and what i like is what i like

I heard about the horror stories a few months ago about bad sails and what have you and while I think it's a bad thing that it happened it couldn't really have been helped. Their warehouse/whatever was hit hard by both of the summer's major hurricanes (Rita and Katrina). As one can guess this lead to a lot of negative transactions on e-bay. Everything seems to have been cleared up since and is back on track. Read their recent feedback on e-bay and it's all good.
I had no problems with their customer support. I changed an order after paying (upgraded the head to a better model) and had no issues/delays because of it. The only thing that's slightly weird is that they require ID and a copy of the CC e-mailed to them when you buy for the first time so they can prevent CC fraud. I think it’s pretty cool that they do that.

having a sealed box w/ stickers doesnt mean anything...one of the places i have dealt with sells refurb and there product are all packaged in the same way. when the amps are refurbed they are actually sent back to the manufaturer. they rebuild it, then re-pack it w/stickers and new packaging. does not mean that it is 100 percent brand new....its the same situtation with cell phones, i broke mine a while back but i have insurance, though the replacement look cosmetically brand new, it was a refurb........so like 1meanGTA said, be carefull what ur purchasing.................
