Newbie looking for his use-to-be '86 ROC 1st car last known to be in Illinois!

Hello, my name is Ronnie & i'm from the Nashville/middle TN area.

I'm looking for a '86 IROC-Z that I was blessed & fortunate enough to have new in high school in the 80's as my 1st car.

The last time I saw it was in '90 after graduation when we traded it in on a LX 5-liter Stang.

After doing a car-fax, best as I can tell it went to Lawrenceburg TN till '99 when title was transfered to Gibson Ill then it was titled 3 more times the last known being 9/04/02 in Lockport Ill title# T2247211022.

USUALLY the citys showing title is the county seat in the county the vehicle is titled.

The VIN# to this white '86 IROC-Z is 1G1FP87H7GN169986

When I traded the car in '90, it was white with the top-of-the-line valour seats & red interior, limo tinted windows, saw-blade directional wheels & had the black & gray Roc stripes @ the bottom. Of course it had T-TOPS, & the over-head trip console & sunglasses pouch.
This was a heavily optioned car as in the material of the interior, power antenna, seats, Bose radio, etc.

I would love to track down my 1st car & make contact with the owner. If I could buy it @ a reasonable price, i'd like to buy it back.

Maybe it belongs to someone on this forum or you may know who owns it.
Please check your vin#s & let me know.

If any of you have a source that could help me track this vin# to the current owner i'd appreciate it.

When I get time, i'll scan-in some of my old pictures of it including the picture I made a few minutes before we left the house to go trade it.

Thanks, look forward to ya'lls help.
Ronnie

Thanks!

It could be painted blue, or purple now, ya just never know. Maybe it's sitting in someones backyard or it could be a race-car now. Maybe it's still within your county just in another city or area.

Lat titled in '02 so their is several possibilities.

Man I appreciate it.
It'll probably be Friday or Saturday but i'll try to get some pics of it posted-up of what it looked like back then.

No telling what color it is or what it looks like now.

Maybe it'll still have the saw-blade directionals on it. Who knows..

Go on Chitownracing.com and look for a guy who's handle on there is MIKEYDZ28, he lives in New Lenox and would probably know the car if it is still there, and MIKEY drives a third gen. And if he asks where you got his name, tell him GoodOldsChevy is one thirdgen.org (under this name ofcourse) and I figured he may be able to help.

Good Luck!!

I'll let ya'll know as soon as I find out somethign myself. I appreciate all the help & support.

Thru a helpful source a guy thinks he knows the guys name & address to where the car is was or use to be. I can't get a phone number thru 411 to match the name to that address that I have. I've tried calling several other people with the same name in the state & nobody knows this guy or the car. I'm down to 1 phone number that i've been trying to call since last Friday night & the guy doesn't have a answering machine or a V.mail, which beats all i've ever seen. I'll probably end-up writing some letters.

I'll also try to contact that guy on the Chitown site as well.

I was prepared to post pics of this car Friday night & this site was down as it was early part of the week. I'm @ home with dial-up connection so as soon as I get back to the office which may be next week or this weekend, then i'll post some pictures.

Thanks again.

Here is some pictures of the car from over 15 years ago.

This 1st picture is the last picture ever made of the car about 1 hour before trading it in on a Mustang LX 5.0 & was made in June of 1990.

This picture was taken around March of 1989 as I was trying to sell it @ that time. Ended-up spinning a bearen after that picture was made the same afternoon.. so I kept the car another year.
Look @ these wheels just incase they still MIGHT be on the car.

This is when the car was new & I had a mulet..

Another angle..

I like the IROCs myself.

I just hope with all this info i've got out here on the net that somebody will find it.

I'm gonna have to write a letter to a address & name i've got for it.
