Just a fun post that may give some insight on what works in high altitude. Im getting antsy and thinking my Bird is gonna run at least mid 13's.

I am redoing the suspension so I will not be getting any faster this year. Just better handling.

heres my car and mods (Im looking for about 700-900+ RWHP) you make the call as to the 1/4 mile times https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...ew&rideid=3980 and I may buy this car https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...ew&rideid=8293 as a testbed R&D ( also as a daily driver) to put the 412 cid "interim" motor in with my superram, an edelbrock lower, 58mm BBK/edelbrock TB, some TFS 23*'s, and a 12 rib system with better pulleys (12# on the 412), my race 700r4 and race converter, nasty cam. the car currently only has SLP 3/4" headers and cat back and twin "extra" high flow cats (if you know what I mean) and 1.6 rollers installed since the dyno test with just the P1sc. Im looking for only about 500-600+ RWHP out of this "baby" version of my B4C project.

What are your suspension plans? I too am thinking of tooling around with the suspension, the front of the birds a bit tight.

B4Ctom1, Holy Shiznick thats one nice setup you got there!!!

I have KYB GR2 shocks and struts sitting in my room. ROH Snypers with BFGoodrich CompT/A VR4s on thier now, bout a month old.

The next things are going to be Spohn LCAs, subframe connectors. PSt front end kit.

But first tranny work and now brakes argh... loads of fun.

lets see where to begin mods in sig plus accel base and 3.42 rear, my best 1/4 time was in KC, MO 13.65 so I'm hoping for mid 14's up here. I've got a new fender and headlight on the way along with a new facia in the basement. Plus eibach springs on the way and 17X9.5" crosslaced wheels waiting for tires.

from sea level to bandemere or douglas (WY) altitude you are almost exactly 1 second slower.

For Bandimere, the NHRA conversion is .9276 for ET, 1.0773 for trap speed.

Mods in sig, I know my gears are holding me back. I'm expecting low-15's @ high-80's/low 90's. Best before mods was 16.85 @ 81, typical was 17.0 @ 80.

The '57 may get the pocket porting I'm considering before opening test & tune. Might finally break into the 14's then. The 45 pounds removed from the driver's seat since last season can only help. Would love to get gears in it, too, but...

is that a conversion as it applys to your car or all cars, because I have seen the altitude affect many cars differently, especially but not limited to power adder cars.

I believe that's the NHRA correction factor but I'm with you tom I don't see how anyone could come up with a correction factor because engine effeciency would ultimately determine how much power is lost. I have also wondered about the thin air how does it affect drag?
