Raising the rear end.
Hey guys and gals! I have a 1986 Camaro Sport Coupe. It had the stock 2.8L and V6 T5. It now has an '88 350 out of a Corvette and a V8 T5. My stock suspension is struggling a little. I'm pretty much here to get any opinions on what I should be doing for new suspension. I'm thinking of lowering it about 2-3 inches. Buuuuut I'd really like to see what it would be like with the 70s lifted rear end. You know, like the old 'cudas and Novas. Any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks a ton!

Re: Raising the rear end.
This will give you an idea on how the "raised" rear looks. Mine is a strip/strip build.
V6 front springs
Iroc rear springs
235/50-15 front tires
275/60-15 rear tires
Air lift drag bags in rear springs

If you go the coil-over route you will be able to adjust the ride height from above stock height to more than 2" lower depending on the chosen spring length and rate.

Re: Raising the rear end.
Mine could be lowered a bit but here's how it sits now.
Unknown on the front / could be the original but still work well.
MOOG 5665 springs/original stock isolators on top of them and KYB "Gas-a-Just rear shocks.
235/60r15 front tires on 7x15in wheels and 255/60r15s rear tires on 8x15in wheels.
This is exactly the "rake" I was trying for.

Re: Raising the rear end.
I wish... I hate to even say it, but that hood swap was due to my dumb mistake. I was doing some carb tuning, closed hood down and took it for a road test drive, and I watched my Harwood bolt on fiberglass hood fly over the top of my car. I forgot to put the hood pins in the front. The hood ripped off of the hinges.
So I cut my old steel hood and bolted on an aero scoop I had sitting around.
