As many of you know. I hold a big thirdgen event at my house every Memorial Day weekend. We've had it the past two years and it's basically been a local event. Still, we were able to bring in about 50 cars last year so it was pretty big for a local event. However, with so many people complaining about the lack of a centrally located thirdgen event we decided to promote the party nationally this year. I'm in Crete, IL which is about 40 minutes south of Chicago so we have a pretty good location to bring in cars from around the country.

The party will be Saturday, May 29th (Memorial Day weekend). It will start at 11:00 am and run until whenever. As always, the party will be completely free with plenty of food and drinks provided. We're expecting between 100-150 cars this year and will probably end the night with a cruise to one of the local cruise night locations. There's also been talk of renting Rt. 41 dragstrip the following day for a track day but that hasn't been finalized.

The biggest addition to this years party is the car raffle. I have a '91 B4C (police car) Camaro that we are going to raffle off for $50 a ticket. Which means that some lucky person is going to go home with a VERY rare former Wisconsin state trooper car for $50. Of course, buying a ticket is optional. Also, as many of you know, I have a HUGE supply of used thirdgen parts so I can probably help you with just about anything you need while you're here.

The party also has it's own board on the Gathering board section and that's where the majority of the party information will be posted. Stay tuned to the Thirdgen Fest '04 board for all the latest information.

Sounds good to me. I will try and get some of the WI 3rd gens together and we can all caravan down thre in a big group.

You might also wanna tell people that you can enter the drawing for the B4C even if you don't go to the gathering, because some people are gonna have to miss out on it for reasons beyond their control. Also, could you be talked into posting pictures of the B4C?

Yes, people will be able to buy tickets even if they don't attend the party. I'll probably start selling tickets in April. However, I'm hoping somebody at the party wins it. I think that would be cool. I'll be posting pictures of the car soon.

i really want to go but i cracked my block the other day maybe i will find a cheap motor in time. any body got a cheap 87 or latter short block that i can throw my tuned port on? i would like to find one with heads to but not necisary. also interested in a 383 but not sure any one would be willing to part with one cheep (i am having money problems and to make that worse my camaro is my daily driver case i dont have another car). oops sorry there i go again but yea if my car is running drive through kenosha and i will ride with the Wi people.
