Speedhut gauges
Ordered a set of their Revolution gauges.
They're made to order, I had them in about 2 weeks from the time I placed my order, and considering they had to clear customs I didn't expect them so soon. They also managed to keep my shipping costs low...
Their tech support is also pretty great, fast replies!
Deffinately would use again if I needed to. For the cost of a set of generic Autometer gagues you can get these, they are programmable and the designs are customizable.
Won't have them mounted and wired for a few weeks yet.

Re: Speedhut gauges
Those look great!
I seriously wish these were a viable option when I was installing gauges.
In fact, I have a mint cluster bezel, and if I ever get new gauges, I think I might do exactly this. Probably with black faces.
Those are gonna look CLEAAAN!
Anxious to see them wired and lit up!

Re: Speedhut gauges
I didn't get the gps speedo. Could have but for some reason I just didn't want to go that way... Blame the army for me not wanting to rely on gps.
So hard not to pull the dash and mock these in there, but I'm halfway through painting the car and need to get that done before I can start to play with my new toys.

Re: Speedhut gauges
I had bought a set of these including the GPS speedometer (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...i-made-my.html) based on this review: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...order-led.html
That is also linked in the thread I started. The thread was aimed more at how to install aftermarket gauges into a 90-92 Camaro, which have abysmal options for such. I am very happy with the GPS speedometer, no longer worrying about tire and rim height, transmission changes or gear ratio changes. I have had no problem with signal driving in the North East quadrant of the state of Illinois. I did not (not yet at least) wire the GPS unit up to a hot at all times lead so occasionally upon startup it can take up to a minute to acquire a GPS signal but usually ten seconds and your good to go. Only thing seeming to affect it has been parking garages, tunnels and going through very wide under passes, as in at least 6 lanes wide. It can also do performance calculations, 1/4 mile, 0-60, etc. As mentioned the gauges are relatively thin which is great for mounting purposes. The customization of them is also a huge plus. The gauges are also guaranteed accurate to within a certain percent. My opinion is that these are superior to AutoMeter. Speedhut should be at the AutoMeter price point and AutoMeter should be knocked down to the Speedhut price point. [IMG][/IMG]

Re: Speedhut gauges
You will like them. I almost went with that color scheme too, hope you post a day and night picture. I strongly recommend hooking up the GPS to always hot unless you park in concrete or heavy metal structures. I debate running mine on a switch so it is not continuously searching when I'm in the parking garage at work. Mine is wired key on right now.

Speedhut is amazing!. When I get around to doing my gauges after my ls swap I'll probably pay another visit to them. Can't beat the price or quality

Re: Speedhut gauges
I'm leaning towards putting mine on a switch so with shorts trips I can leave it powered and then turn it off when I'm done driving. If you let your car warm up and you're not in a solid concrete or metal structure it should be ready when you are. I drive mine once a week so I worry about battery life when it has a small but constant parasitic drain. If you drive daily or every few days it probably wouldn't effect battery life.

Re: Speedhut gauges
Got mine a few weeks ago, made a new ABS overlay and swapped in my gauges. Just installed everything but won't be able to turn them on for a while. I got the evolutions, 4.5" GPS speedo (with turn signals and high beam) and 4.5" tach. A quad 3 3/8" and a dual 3 3/8", and the small gauge is my innovate WB02. Side gauges are trans temp and another voltage gauge for now.
What you don't see is the FAST EZ EFI 2.0 digital dash that will be going in the radio console which has 30 different digital readouts all at the same time.
Speed hut gauges seem nice, worried about how bright they are and I hate that you have to use there dimmer and require an inverter.

Re: Speedhut gauges
Thanks!
It is ABS black sheet. I decided to use the textured side. I originally was Going to use the smooth side and wrap in 3D dinoc carbon fiber vinyl, and the smooth side would be perfect. But changed my mind after seeing it with the texture and it matching the OEM texture pretty closely.
I used 1/8" thick ABS by the way.
Not a huge fan of the brightness of these gauges tho. Car still isn't on the road so I cant see how it looks while driving in thr day and at night but it's much dimmer than my OEM gauges or my Stewart warner maximum performance with full LED upgrades.
Other than that I'm pretty satisfied.

Re: Speedhut gauges
It looks great btw.Do they make it thicker than 1/8?
What color is your backlighting? I have the same blk on wht w/ blue backlight & noticed too its not as bright.Even with the dimmer all the way up, but im thinking it just wont have as much glare.

Re: Speedhut gauges
Yea, they make it in 1/4" thick too...
I got the black background with white numbers and white back lighting bc i heard it was the brightest lighting. I called speedhut to ask if I can increase the lighting or swap the LEDs, they said I got the brightest available and u cant even change the color. It's a florescent tube style lighting or like and CCFL angle eye type. That's why they need a DC to AC inverter... just like CCFL angle eyes. They can't be changed, or increased brightness, but the positive is they last a really really long time. Guy said in the 9 years or so they've been in business they've never had the lighting burn out.

Re: Speedhut gauges
well i was able to do a little here and a little there the past couple days. got the gauges all hooked up. i love them. pretty easy straight forward wiring. all i have to do know is program the tach and fuel gauge. found a crack in my distributor so i'll be picking up a new one this friday. i'll post some video once i finish it all and drive. anxious to see how the GPS Speedometer works.

Re: Speedhut gauges
had one mad fews years back for my STI,
I had them make one with the pink logo and orange numbers.
It matched my gauge perfectly.
Really nice people to work with!
