what about the elderbrock pro flo xt

i see a lot of information about the mini ram, hsr, superam etc......

but i little info on performance with the pro flo xt sbc intake.is there any one running one of these on there motor.

i recently just purchase one for 408 sbc chevy.i do plan on running the ls1 tb.i currently have a tricked out tpi setup.with the elderbrock lower intake and slp runners.and a ported upper plenum for this c4 corvette set,32 lb injectors,58mm tb.i was told that the setup is really holding back for major power with my 408.

can any one enlight me with the protential of power this thing is capable of making

Re: what about the elderbrock pro flo xt

I was going to do the swap tell my intake arrived, I was not impressed. Ports were stock GM size(1204?) and you wouldn't be able to port them out any more without adding material, I was hoping they would be 1205 like the HSR. Basically ending up being a big waste of money. Stick with a miniram if I were you.

The Proflo ECM and software are absolutely the worst EFI system I have ever worked with. Runaway screaming. I am not even making it up when I say they made up their own units! THere is no realtime tunning.

Idk how crazy your 408 is but the victor efi single plane picked up 2mph from 130 to 132 naturally aspirated over miniram on a 406sbc. Both out the box

Pro flo is about as good as stealth ram. Similar design but as some have said it may not open up to 1205-1206 gasket size where a good motor wants to be at. Most good heads that feed 400" motors are 1205 minimum to 1206. Stealth ram has hard time getting to 1206 but is 1205 with alittle cleanup.

I have not seen one so I could not tell ya but would be interested to find out. It looks like a decent intake.

Re: what about the elderbrock pro flo xt

If I remember correctly it wouldn't fit under my hood by like 3/8", you would have to dent or cut up the bracing a bit. Though I do have polly engine mounts just so you know.
