Wow, check out these sweet engine bays.
What do you think?
The 82
The 86
Soon, both of these will have LT1's in them.

I love the way when you look inside the engine bay the concrete just accentuates the paint so much, lol jk. Good luck with the swap. Should be one sweet combo.

Thanks.
We're trying to get the 82 done before the end of the month and go to SLP Customer Appreciation Day on March 29th in Florida.
It's getting pretty close and the engine isn't here yet.

looking good.
I have a hard task. I need to change the color of my engine bay to black. I did some the other night, but it was dark outside so I probably did a crappy job.
Today we are going to put his fuel tank back in and run the braided line for the fuel system. Tomorrow the rear end should be here and we are going to POR-15 that and then install it.
Then the new guages are going in.
After that, we will wait for the engine and work on my car.
I need to get to bed, have to get up in a few hours and start working on the cars.

I am cringing on the thought about how much you guys have to put back together. Looks like homework to me.
Zepher,
How come everytime you do something to your car it always seems like you are doing it at night and that time you were working on something at 3 a.m. and woke up the neighbors.
What do you do all day? You must have lots of things to do.

I have hyper-sensitive eyes and bright sunlight makes my eyes irritated and start to water so I do a lot of stuff when the sky is overcast or when it's darker.
Also, when we began this project on my friends car, he had most of the parts delivered to his apartment so he'd have to wait till UPS came at around 3pm each day. He eventually started to have the parts shipped to my house which made more sense since the car is here and I am always home during the day.

Not including the time it takes to rebuild the engine, how long does it take you guys to disconnect the accessories, pull the engine, and put it all back together.

Heres after a month of sandblasting, scraping, sanding, and cutting out the radiator support. Note that the inner fenderwells are just as clean and smooth as the engine bay. We've probably gone through 15 cans of flat black engine enamel already...

Hmmmmm.......all these engine bays seem to be missing something, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
Are they missing washer solvent resevoirs?
