Get a cloth, old t shirt material works best. get a bit on teh rag and rub your target. You have to rub for a bit. The cloth with start to get black in the area where the polish is. This means its doing its job! You may need a few applications to get it as shiney as you would like. Once it dries i just get a soft terry cloth towel and buff teh residue off and you are left with much shine! The better quality teh metal you are polishing teh better result you will see. Some aluminums are porus and do not polish well. I got lucky on teh drive shaft. The AC canister polished up nice too. It took much more work. The drive shaft took about a 1/2 hour!

This all is still for RAIF. But I'm collecting similar things for the 82. We are trying to get RAIF to run a bit stronger, hence the better gear ratio...Hawks had a drive shaft, so I thought why not, we were there for the rear end anyway!

I noticed with that mother's metal polish, the longer you let it dry, the harder it is to buff it out. I usually polish it like said above until the cloth turns black, then right after, wipe it down with a cotton towel. I also noticed that if you don't give it time to dry, you get a better shine out of it. Plus, on the directions, it doesn't even say to let it sit and dry, so there you go. -89IRO

i picked up a disc brake rear for $50! i have no idea what kind of gear ratio it has. my dad and i needed the axle out of it for his car cause we broke an axle off the line at Atlanta Dragway. There was a lady that had a whole rearend and she didn't need it cause she had just picked up a dana44 for her car. so we bought it off her for $50! the rearend will get good gears if it has crappy ones and i will probably put some mosier custom axles and c=clip elminators in that beast before i put it in my 89. my dad got a 9inch for his car with 33spline axles so, needless to say, he won't be using th 7.5 much longer

Aluminum driveshafts are much lighter, meaning less running weight in your driveline.

Has anyone ever experienced with carbon fiber drive shafts that they offer for cars now?

Thanks Dan, I know what there benefits are, now I'm trying to find out what will work and what doesn't on a 350 with a 700r4 trans and a fourth gen disc rear, which is what I will be set up with. Would I need a stock aluminum driveshaft from a third gen or would a fourth gen work????.........
