Strobe lights are a level 3 upgrade (NFS: Underground). Those are only level 1. Therefore, you won't have as much reputation stars.

well if its red or blue light its about 15-20hp depending on the weather, but the white ones are an easy 30-40hp even on a cloudy day. This is one thing I would never do to my car ever. Not flaming you at all. Ive given up on giving my opinon here. I either get flamed for it or get in trouble with the high and mighty. Do what you want.

it must have been nice out, and he has the R28 so there ya go, they respond real well to light mods. I think that the R28 has the turbo V-7?

Car: too many ...
What color is your car? I have an orange car so red would match pretty good. I plan to get some underbody lights for my car too, but I've heard from friends that the LED's are better than the neons. Something about the neons have a short life span, use too much wattage, and break easier. For me its not about the bling, but catching people off guard. The last car they expect to see that on is a Camaro. When you race someone top end on the freeway and start to pull em hard, turn on the underbody lights as you take off (like a friggn rocket ship! woo!). On a side note, I saw someone in line at Taco Bell yesterday with a blue 91-92 Z28 with 17" Boyds, nice drop, and blue underbody lights and it looked pretty nice!! I think he flashed them 3 times for a free taco. The thing that ruins it for our kind of cars (IMO) is when the rest of the car is mostly stock. Then I think it would look kinda odd ... no free HP and no free tacos ... fo shua

If you dont like neons then your a stock-****!
Im just kidding ,thought it was funny when I got called one so thought I would pass it on! I have never heard of that company before but I have dealt with some neon lights that look just like those and they didnt last long. I would recommend StreetGlow for a kit if your serious. Theirs give you double the H.P. and almost TRIPLE the TRQ.!! Im putting white ones under mine next spring.Oh and dont forget to add any stickers that come with the lights, easy 5 to 10H.P. when combined with the light!

I know a guy whos soo awesome with cars his ride is soooo fast and he told me he gets 5 horsepower with every sticker even if he doesnt have the product. And this guys really cool and if you dont agree with him hell come down to wherever you are and kick your ***!!!

It's alright for you Americans! Neon lights on every street corner! And under every other car!
For us UK'ers, this is daring to say the least!
To see a Camaro in the UK, on the streets, is very unusual. To see a car with Neons on is more unusual. To see a Camaro with neons is like rocking horse manure.
Bit special (stock or not!).

How common are the neons over there? Are they more popular with the fast and furious cars (jap etc), than your home grown machines?
How often do you see a modded machine over there? I saw 1 car (Toyota Supra) a few months ago here that was a custom. Nothing since. We all seem to be straight lipped! Well, not all!

I didn't get any stickers with mine. Have I lost out then? Could I get more miles per gallon?

Andy.

Depends on what you mean by modded. I see alot of cheap cars with spoilers or rims and neons but I only see maybe 2 to 3 custom cars done up right. Now heres another thing how come everyone who owns a green car has to put purple neons under it??? Or yellow with green neons? Why are people so color uncordinated? It looks like total @$$ to me! Neons have been around for years over here on everything from hot rods to big trucks and imports, quite common I would say.

now there lies the largest problem of all....

if you have searched the electronics thread at all you will see i've asked numberous times on how to add a secondary fuse box which i am working on right now. i have over 30 accessories currently with roughly 24 different switches hidden throughout the car.

the actual neon light switches are wired two ways through typical toggle switches under the dash as well as relayed to my alarm keypad so that i can turn them on and off from far away.

i like neons if they are done in a tasteful manner and go with the theme of the car, i do think they can be overused and misused on vehicles very easily though. all in all they are alot of fun and if you do any sort of night shows like myself or attend night cruises it really adds to the car.

well now after seein the green neons under the car previous above, im gonna state my opinion, totaly R*CED out, looks ghetto and cheap, kinda like addin chrome all over the damn car, just doesnt look right at all, as long as ur happy with it, then thats all that matters, it shouldnt matter what other people think, im just stating my opinion, so i dont want any flame on me, i just think it dont look right on a thirdgen,

you should see a set in person before you make a judgement that's that negative. i agree that sometimes they look better without but the word riced out alone can be just as played out. to each their own, i like mine.

on another side note i've had a few times where i've ran into problems on a dark road late at night without a bright lite. the white neons completely light up the underside and beyond so they also double as a bright emergency light.

i think it really depends on the color combination and the accent color i have blue l.e.d's under my black Iroc but i also have the blue iroc on my doors and the stripe around so it accents the look. Just my .02 on the subject

Hey guys. Thanks for all the replies-sarcastic ones also!
The ironic thing here is that I didn't want any feelings hurt by anybody flaming anyone else! And, I put this posting in the wrong place to start with! Should have been in the european board!! OOps! Sorry!
Anyway, good to hear the opinions of experienced neon users. How long mine last in the UK weather I don't know.
Hope all your neons last forever.
Best wishes and a merry xmas to all you fellow 3rd gen enthusiasts over there- from all us enthusiasts on this side of the Atlantic.

For me its not about the bling, but catching people off guard. The last car they expect to see that on is a Camaro.

I would think seeing a Thirdgen with neons would be some what predictable , now if I saw some on a 64 GTO or a 70 Hemi Cuda I would be really surprized and even more disgusted! I personaly think neons have no purpose!

3 kits three power adders........

well only two kits now and 1 power adder but it's still just as fun.

:lala:

87z28camaro i never took offense to anything that was said, it's the internet. just stating that those who don't like them should see them in person; then judge you know.

just like above but bad picture...

hot86z-28, i agree. if you can see the bulb it's bad news.

BeNnYBooPy, it depends on how you do it. i've been installing them for many years so i've learned a few tricks. having three kits is a little difficult but one is not. i have 4" exhaust and no problems you shouldn't either.

gearhead0384, i don't see why it's predictable??? i see them more on cars like gto, lemans, cuda, stangs, chevelles, etc. then any others. the street rods started the whole deal.....the imports just took it to a new level. sometimes they can definately be too much but, i wouldn't say they serve no purpose though as night time cruises can be alot of fun with them. it gets attention from everyone and 9 out of 10 is always positive. not to mention the white ones work really well if you need to in an emergency. regardless of the fact i like most that have them do it because i want to and i can.

aaron7 i can relate although i don't think your car has to look fast to appreciate them. so long as your car is in good running shape you should be able to do what you like. it's the guys with 20" and neons who ducktape their bumpers that gets me...

kandied, I like the way your neons look. Neons are cool as long as they are done tastefully. I was also thinking of the white with my red bird.

I have been putting off white neons for 2 years now! Always wanted them , but kept putting money elsewhere. Even had the shop order them but had other stuff happen! Next spring hey are going on.

i see them more on cars like gto, lemans, cuda, stangs, chevelles, etc. then any others. the street rods started the whole deal.....the imports just took it to a new level. sometimes they can definately be too much but, i wouldn't say they serve no purpose though as night time cruises can be alot of fun with them. it gets attention from everyone and 9 out of 10 is always positive. not to mention the white ones work really well if you need to in an emergency. regardless of the fact i like most that have them do it because i want to and i can.
Its just not my cup of tea, but I dont see many 70 Chevelles or any cars for that matter with them around me at least (mostly imports and trucks). I would agree that things like a duce coup might have them under the hood to accent the detail of the engine or what not. I suport the your opinion of thinking that they servre a purpose, but you should respect my opinion that I THINK they serve no purpose. I would have to add that neons on SHOW cars some times adds a little something to the car. But hey thats my opinion.
