opinions wanted on engine detailing...
me n some friends were thinking about starting to clean our engines up, paint them all nice n purdy n stuff. heres the question... what color would look good on my engine... i have a white gta.... and a white engine would look kinda funny. its easy for my friend. red gta= red engine... i was thinkin of going red too. but blue seems like it might go nicely on a white car... what do you guys think? thanks

Ever seen anniversary TAs? They have blue stripes and it looks great. I say go with either a Dark blue engine or a red one. Just don't paint it chevy orange...don't know why but it doesn't seem right in a GTA. Sure wish Pontiac would have kept putting 400s in these cars.

I was thinking of painting my engine as well. My car is black, with a black interior. What I was thinking of doing was painting my engine gold, to match the GTA rims and badges. What do ya think?

well i got a grey interior... so ya... not very exciting engine color now is it...i think i'm gonna go with blue. there's some metallic paints out there which i think might look pretty cool.. or it might turn out kinda ricy looking... you know how they all like shiny stuff... also how hot do engines get. because i have found paints good up until 260 degrees and up to 500... i wouldnt wanna start painting and low and behold it gets too hot down there

Red block, Gloss black valve covers
Paint the timing cover the same black. Black and red look awesome together. Besides, you can't go wrong matching black with anything on a thirgen, the tires are black, the weatherstripping....Haha.

I like red or blue as well...that light blue that abubaca posted would look really cool and different but might be hard to find in high temp and would get dirty easily

Ill probably never hear the end of this one, but I painted my 305 when my buddies and I rebuilt it with OLD FORD BLUE hi temp spray paint from autozone. Now the color in a black bay did look pretty sweet however the engine knocked as soon as we got it in and I blame it on the FORD color paint...lol Anyway you can go look at it if you want but its a nice color blue not overdone. Wish I could throw a picture on here but cars in Michigan, im in ohio.
