one and onyl reason i dotn buy the hood..

i dont have 500 to blow ona hood alone.

i spent 500 buyign the car and had break down to 300 one pay day and 200 the other.

right now ive got to but back over a thousand to save up so i can buy tires for car which round 300 and rims i want for round 450 and then a predator ground efffects kit for 600 so u know i gotta save for everything.

so i got mine cheaper, mines different no one else has it round here esp or on a 3rd gen.
its custom i made it fit and work.
its better then the stick on lund ones as well.
and mines for looks not for function.
also fiberglass hoods ive heard all suck and have to have alot of work done to lok good and like all aftermarket have to have alot of work to align and look right.
so i get the look w/o al the probs of alignment and such.

It is certainly different but creative I will give ya that, but I can't say I am much of a fan but on the other hand I don't like the ram air 2 hood on anything but the 4thgen ls1 trans am!

its already fiberglassed in and primered now just dont have the roll of film done yet or any good ones fomr my dig cam.

if it gets warm tomorrow liek its suposed to ill have em up tomorrow.

and i know ppl dont like rivets n say they rust n show but if done right they wont.
u have to use special rivets n coatings n junk on them i went down to auto body supply n tlaked to them there the know me well and my dad so they told me what i needed to do and use to keep em fomr showin up or havin rpobs later.

I'm all for do-it-yourself work, but it doesn't look right to me. It looks like the part you purchased is designed for a much smaller hood like a Neon or other compact car because the nostrils should be at the base of the hood rather than half way up. Maybe if you had attached it right near the nose and then fabricated something to extend it back further, it would look like it fits.

that was the only problem w/ it being short but actually for it to function and be right it shoudl be were it is due to were the intake is n all and on the hoods they got long airbos n plumbin and junk which puts it all the way up there.

i had thought of it but wasnt right in front and would have been huge project to fab up the rear.

and if u followed the scoops fan out the way they do in the rear theyd be from one side of the hood to the other n bakc n look too huge n bulky.

as ive aid they doo look different primered n finished sicne they ar molded.

but i do agree on the fact as they should be longer but hey its different and cheaper then the whole hood and when u on strict budget poor boys got por ways.

altho if id knew it woudl be that short i proly would not have goten it.

i have noticed that i have completely different tastes then a ton of ppl here allinput is appreciated tho and opinions are fine .
to each there own.

like my scoops i lik em most dont or most dont liek the rma air period on theese cars.
i like my louvers alot dont.
i like custom and most are stock fanactics only.

i love being different so my ride isnt somethgin seen everyday.
and unless its the stock class shows u get more points on bein different and unique

thanks for takin the time n lookin tho weather u like them or not.
figured id share it w/ everyone in case someone may want to do it themselves on 3rd gen or anything else n im here to answer any ?s u may have as well.

well I guess with a Carb you could be on to something there, but with the TPI I'm putting in, I want the opening right at the nose. For the most part, the ram air is for looks more than functionality though

I for one like it. I'm not too fond of the Ram-Air look on a Camaro but I must say, it looks like you did a good job.

Hopefully all goes well with your resto.

I don't really care for the 'Bird style ram air hoods on Camaros, but you did a damn nice job fabricating that one! Keep up the good work.

thanks everyone for the compliments and for stopping by.

as for my wheel the guy i got it fomr *** friend of mine had it in his thunderbird had it custom ordered or something im not sure.
i used to see the same wheel at autozone and now they have the 3 spoke in chrome but not dished like ours and mines missing or doesnt have the leather or whatever wrapped around the outside wheel mines like rough foam its hard to explain its not soft but is pourius
or full of tiny holes lol.
guy i got it fomr bought a cheech and chong wheel,
chrome 3 spoke very deep dish like 8 inches in diameter and outside is a chrome chain.
and he gave me his old one it was rustyed chrome and i painted it. autozone does sale the 3 spokes here as i said in black or chrome but no dish to em what so ever.
thats cool that we have the same wheel.

i would go black carpet but way it is my carpet all way back, door panels, headliner was, and all plastic trim in rear sails and cargo trunk area all thats red, and yea i could change it but red different so its aight. for now anyways.
more then likely my floor mats will be black so only spot yud see red carpet wil be behind frotn seats which cant be seen by ppl in front lol due to seats back real far and the cargo area might be black or red proly red im oin lay in carpet all way back for seemles lok once i mount my system fuly and permanently.

Good job, I like it better than the ASCD one, the scoops are too big and close up on tho and it looks out of place. Yours is a bit more subtle ...much better

i must say that i think u did an awesome job...wish i were that good at bodywork!.......as for the hood...i also do not like them on other cars other than the LS1 trans am's....and i especially dont like how they look on our cars from a straight side shot...but that angle shot you have looks pretty mean...so tear it up man...good job!

thats good, personally i think thirdgens are all about customizing.
now maybe i don't like the way a fur headliner would look (never seen it so i can't tell) but i'd sure have alot more respect for the hard work put in it then some guy with a plain old stock one, its the same with his hood persoanlly i don't like the look, but hes put a ton of work into his car and thats what matters
