91 Hugger Orange RS

http://members.cardomain.com/camarostud3

Hey guys & gals. I'm relatively new on here. Read alot on here but hardly post. Bought my RS in early 2004 for $500! When I got it the owner had body completely stripped to bare metal getting ready to paint so it was great because I could get it painted whatever color I wanted without considering what it was already painted. I then purchased the Harwood cowl hood and got a High Rise spoiler off ebay for pretty cheap! I went with Hugger Orange because, I like orange for one, plus I wanted to go with a retro look. When it was getting painted I had them remove the, IMO ugly, RS badge from the rocker ground fx, fill the void with bondo or whatever they used and place the classic Camaro emblem there. I just bought the AR Outlaw wheels and Kelly Charger's from my bro recently so they haven't been on very long but they give it the stance I was looking for. All 4 tires come right out to the edge of the fenders. Currently it only has a V6, which runs great, because I spent my $$$ on paint and such being I really didn't have much choice with it already being stripped but my next project will be putting a 350 in it. Might wait till this winter for that deal cuz like I said the V6 runs great. Let me know what ya think but I def got a great deal for a solid car that actually runs for $500!!! Later, Jeremy

p.s. I'm a Cleveland Browns fan too so that helped painting it Orange too! lol

I like the raised white lettering on your tires. It looks good. I am wanting to buy some eagle I or II nascar tires but I wasnt sure if they would look good with the letters facing out. Your pic will help me decide.

Great looking car. I'd ditch the fog lights though.

It's interresting that the car has an IROC front valance instead of the 91-92 style, but I think that the smooth look compliments your filled-in badge idea.

go Browns! I used to have a little Chevette in high school, that I wanted to paint orange with the white/brown/white stripe down the middle. Make my own version of a browns football helmet. :P

Oops! I never noticed or it's the first thing I would have said. Black headlight buckets are MANDATORY on a Camaro.

so what year did that RS start life as? It has the scoops by the doors but not on the front? did they just change the front bumper cover? Good looking car, but loose the wheels and the fog lamps.

Awesome ride man. That is the look I am going for as well, a nice rake stance, classic style rims, basically retro style.

If you don't mind me asking, what size are those rims?

Thanks! Yeah I've put some money into it but def worth it. It is a 91 RS. Not sure why it doesn't have the front valance with scoops. Thats what was on when I bought it. I prefer it this way anyways. If it would've had the scoops on front I def would be swapping it with what's on it now. There is absolutely no chance of making the headlight buckets black! No Way!!! lol Definitely keeping the fog lights too but thanks for the suggestions! The wheels are 15x8 all the way around. When looking for wheels I really wasn't looking for anything like the Outlaws but my bro had them on his Monte Carlo and wanted to sell them so I had him put them on the Camaro and they looked alot better than I thought they would so they stayed and I got them at discounted rate. Like your orange Camaro blyth18md. Orange is a classic Chevy color so I'm really surprised there's not more out. Everyone has red, white, black, etc Camaro! Thanks again guys for compliments!

Atta Boy you tell them! that's the way I like them too, painted the same color as the Car! It's yours and you will be driving it...that's all that matters! keep up the excellent work! One suggestion though...you really should get the 91-92 front spoiler to match up with the rest!

I was thinkin today, a louvered grill may give your car more of that "retro" look. Just a suggestion.

What do you mean a louvered grill? Like the grill in the pic below which is a Camaro I used to have? If that's what you mean then I like the fog light openings better. Thanks for suggestions tho!

I also live in NW PA, to be exact I live in the Town of North East and I think I saw you on Friday (June 10th) getting onto I79 around 10:00 in the morning, I was just getting off the exit to get fuel there and saw you go up the on ramp heading north. Do you by chance work at Verizon. Your car looks great, and my girlfriend says that there is another orange camaro that a guy owns who works there with her there at verizon. I too am going to be painting my car hugger orange, but I am going to be adding white stripes also.

Yep that's me. I live down around Edinboro and work at Verizon up in Erie. Thanks for the compliments. Do you have any current pics of your Camaro? What kinda stripes you putting on? Racing stripes? When I was getting ideas on what to do before I got her painted I was thinking of putting the old school hockey stripes on but decided to leave it stripeless and I def like it that way! Who's your girlfriend? Maybe I know her. Later, Jeremy
