another smashed thirdgen.

well on my anniversary, i took the wife for a ride (a very rare occurance) when a guy coming the other way turned left right in front of me. i tried to stop, but just couldn't. it bent up the radiator support, and maybe some suspension parts. although it doesn't look that bad due to age and mileage it was declared totaled by the bodyshop. i was just gonna give up when i read a few other post like this and saw the support you guys give people. now i plan to put her back on the road, better than ever.

Yeah, this kind of crap happens...its unfortunate...but at the very least everyone's alright. These parts aren't too hard to find, might even want to consider a local j/y for the cheapest deals

Your Not The Only One

This weekend on saturday i was at HMP's Pro Mod Maddness.
It was the 2nd qualifiying rounds for the pro mods.
when up comes Doug Riesterer(spelling) in his 91-92 z28 i think not sure on that part cause it was an all fiberglass body. Anyways he'd just did a hell of a run of 4.28 at 166 i believe when some wittnesses state that his engine caught fire first. But what i saw was him win of course, then after he passes the trap his chutes don't deploy and the sand trap doesn't stop him and he slams into the ditch at the end of sand. big ball of fire he suffered burns to his neck, color and part of his shoulders. but he walked away and later was real stiff from some accounts i heard. he hit the ditch so hard that the engine was knocked sideways. his whole frontend tornup completly. later that evening i was at Frank taylors pit chatting it up with little paul taylor and he said he overheard Doug mentioning that he might be ending his 20 year run. Well seeing as this was my first ever trip to a pro mod event and it was a good one at that. I stumbled apon the rest of his front end laying near the dumpster and i have a piece of what could have been Doug Reiesterer's last car.
