I need some opinions on which route to take. Should I Polish my Plenum or get it powder coatd? Either way I am not polishing it myself or coating it myself . I will be looking for someone to do it. So what is the best way to go and who does them?

I haven't done either yet but i started to look into it, and as far as I know you'll prolly want to first polish it, THEN powdercoat it to "lock" the polished look in there.

powdercoating and polish looks are completely different!

powdercoating would involve basically painting it and baking the color into the given material.

polishing would be to finely smooth out the material removing the top coating and giving it a overall metal shine!

if you want a color, powdercoat it! if you want a shine, either have someone polish it and clear coat it! or you could ceramic coat it which is very similar to powdercoating but gives it a polished metal look and not a solid color.

that is if you don't want to chrome this particular piece, i went with ceramic coating which looks very nice; isn't as blindy as chrome but gives a nice shiny appearance.

I powder coated mine. I am happy with it for several reasons:
1. Never had to polish it
2. Took less time to drop it off and pick it up done
3. Cost only 60 bucks for translucent red
4. Looks great
5. Very tough as in not nicking easy
6. Did I say it loks cool and took no time to drop it off and pick it up...

polish looks soo much better. i cant wait till i can do mine. then i wont be afraid to open the hood to a stock LOOKING engine.

but got sick of it being dirty if I just looked at it wrong and since 9 out of 10 have theirs polished out or powder coated,, eventually everyones will look the same & mine will be the last 'stock looking' one so it will be the custom looking intake (heh,, doubt it tho) so I just glass bead blasted & cleared it, much easier maintenance too.
