I just can't decide what I want. So let me have em. Also not sure of the offsets. If 5.5 is the max rear offset in the back, what is the widest rim I can use without the tire sticking out or rubbing the fender lip.

hey CarNDrvr did u have to modify the rearend any to make them fit? what about the front... any mods to make them fit? im looking at some 18X10.5 rears and 18X9 up front. u know what back spacing i will need?

Thanks for the compliments. The fronts have a 4" backspacing, and they fit with no mods. The rears have a 5" backspacing, and they require beating the crap out of the inner wheel well, and cutting the lip out of the outer one, and actually "flaring" the outer wheel well enough to make it look like it doesn't stick out the sides. No times yet. I have been to the track twice. The first time, they were running the promods and weren't letting street cars run. The second time, it was a street night and they weren't posting times or giving timeslips. I will get some soon though. I can tell you that at the street night, I raced a mustang that runs 12.60's at 107mph and I beat him by about 3 lengths. That was after playing catch up because I spun so bad. I would guess I am in the low 12's at about 112-114mph on motor. The car has a 150-250 shot NOS system, which should put me in the 11's at well over 120mph. My mph will reflect better performance than my times, simply because I have street tires and I don't want to put slicks on the car and blow up the rear end. I haven't put a good rear end in the car yet.

The spiral mufflers aren't much of a muffler. The car is EXTREMELY loud. In fact, I am thinking about changing it to a 4" mufflex system so it exits out the back. Right now the duals exit out the passenger side of the car, which looks really good, but is just VERY loud. I will post a pic to show you. The duals are ran side by side down the passenger side of the car. There is plenty of room there. I just have shorty headers with 3" collectors bolting up to 3" pipe. The driver's side pipe runs where a stock "Y" pipe runs.

I also have 17x11 out back and 17x9.5 front. The 315's fit fine, the new 325's fit just as well.

What would the spacer size need to be for me to use the 17x9" with a 50mm offset. I am seeing sizes such as 2.25 for the front and 1.25 for the rear. I may be wrong, but it seems it might stick out. Can any of you please correct me.

Hey MATEOZ28, your car looks awesome man! Did you have to do ANY modifying to get those 315's to fit on the back? Cause CARNDRIVR he had to do some beatin on the fenders to get them to fit on his. I want 315's but I don't like the thought of beating on the fender wells to get them to fit .

Mine are SEC Racing wheels, 17 X 12, w/ 335/35/ZR17 rear, and 17 X 9.5 , w/
275/40/ZR17 front. My tires are Michelin Pilots. The rears sell for around $325-340 each, and about $290-300 for the front. The mods I did to fit them were about the same as CAR N DRVR's, except (I'm not sure if he did or not) I had to clearance the LCA's about 1/2" and I did not flare my outer fenderwell. These pictures are, however, outdated since I lowered the car about 2" last weekend. It really looks much meaner since it lower now. I will post new pics soon. I am also planning on taking the wheels apart (they are actually bolted together with 12-point ARP stainless steel bolts) and sanding the paint off the "ribs" of the crosslace, and polishing them. The crosslace design is actually somewhat similiar to the Boyds "Tuned" wheels, but it's hard to tell it because the center is black.

The difference between Cerillo and Cerullo is that I had a typo in my sig. It is actually Cerullo. I fixed the typo now...hehe. I did not have to clearance my LCA's, but I would guess that it is because my backspacing sits mine out a little more than Basset's, which is why I clearanced the outer wheel well a bit.

My fronts have 4" BS and the rears have a 6.5" , which I really wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you don't mind doing quite a bit of clearancing. I actually had to heat the inner fenderwells and actually stretch the sheel metal to fully clearance them. I had to notch the LCA's a little more than 1/2". But as I sit here, I can't make them scrub now. A thirdgen with that much B/S, by all practical means needs to have mini-tubs. But the effort was worth it, because the pictures don't really do the car justice, because the rear tires's section width is a little over 13", and they are just BARELY under the lip of the quarter panel. The front section of both of my wheels are the same offest which looks cool. I am interested in how you (Car N Drvr) flared the rear quarters. What method did you use to flare them and how much (inches) did you flare them. I think that mod would also add to my car as well. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make this car what I want it to be. At first I looked at it in the perspective that I was "settling" for a 305 TBI RS car, but now, considering the $$$ I saved by purchasing such a nice car for only $2200, and the fact that it is a less-desired RS, rather than an IROC or Z28, I can only improve on the car's performance and value, without the having to worry about hurting car's future value by not keeping it original. I've been criticised by a few people who say "beating on the inner fenderwells is ruining the car". Next to a V6 RS, my car is the least desired Camaro made in '89, how can I be "ruining" it by moving a little sheetmetal to fit a wheel/tire combo that gives the car awesome handling abilities, and a wicked looking stance?? I guarantee I'd have no trouble getting my money back out of it. I've been seriously offered more than double what I gave for it, even though I "ruined" it!!

A friend of mine who helped me with a lot of the fabrication on my car actually took some angle iron and formed it into the shape of the inside of the outer lip. We used this as platform and literally beat it with a hammer until we got about 1/2" flare. This worked like a charm because you can't tell that it was done. We also cut the lip out completely and smoothed the sharp edge.

Oh Ok, so you made a body dolly that comformed to the wheel lip. I think I'll give that a try. I have an 87 IROC parts car that I can experiment on first to get the hang of it. Thanks for the tip.

Not a 17x11 but mine are 17x9.5 with a 285/40R17 that barely fit under in my opinion I had to role the lip to get it to stop hitting still does sometimes on a hard launch. Stiffer springs would probably cure it but then that would affect my drag launch.
