Best sized tire to fill up the rear wheel well
Best sized tire to fill up the rear wheel well
Currently running 275/50R/15 DR's mounted on Centerline Warriors. I believe the wheel is 8.5" wide with a 5.5" BS. I'm looking for a larger tire that will fill the wheel well up a little better and still avoid any clearance issues. Current tire height is 26.1". Thoughts? Pic helpful too.
Thanks
Thanks

That size should be about level with the fender lip. How filled do you want it? Beyond the fender?
Re: Best sized tire to fill up the rear wheel well
I'm actually looking for something to fill up the wheel well a little more. I'm happy with the width (tire almost reaches the lip). I'm thinking maybe a 28" tire as the one currently is 26.1. Was even thinking about a 29" tall tire, but not sure that would fit without rubbing.
I was hoping maybe a few people would post pics of their 28" and 29" tires fitted to 15" rims, and let me know if there are any fit/rubbing issues.

Re: Best sized tire to fill up the rear wheel well
so wait ur taking height not width? in that case dont get larger tires lol if anything lower your car that will increase handleing and will give the "filled" look your looking for. Or cheaper option get bigger rims and appropriate tires to match. Larger tires will just allow more sidewall flex. Unless ur going for a old muscle car look and dont care for handling then yeah just go to ur local tire place look at some 275 60 or 70 15s and measure there height. hope this helps

bolt some, 29x12.5x15 MT Sportsmen. that will fill it up.
youll still need to drop it down about 2" inchs (wt jacks)

jack stands, are under rearend. eng/tranny are out. car will sit 1 1/2inch lower.with out ground FX you can go 30" tall tire.

Fine but if you change the diameter you change the overall gearing. Your speedo will be off. It'll feel like you're in a higher gear all the time. Also if you've got an ecu that'll need to be taken into account.

I'm actually doing this to take a little gearing out. I'm running 3.73 which is good NA street gear, but now has a Procharger D1 which will perform better with less gearing.

thats the exact look I'm going for. Is that a 10" wheel? Also, what is you backspacing?
