Best oil and oil filter

Just wonderin what everyone recommends using in our cars, I've heard Valvoline synthetic is prolly one of da best, and not to use penzoil. What about oil filters? any special ones or will any do? Howabout weight? I've had penzoil 10-W30 in my car the past 2 times cuz I am to lazy to do it myself but I am gonna do it myself this time. I have aprox 109,000 miles on my car if miles plays a factor in anything. And I drive hard too with lots of stop-and-go and high speed (round 115 MPH)

I use and recommend Valvoline and that's any type. At the dealership I used to work at we used nothign but Penzoil products and all I have to say that is some dirty oil. Plus it can leave a film that over time can build up. Ever seen a 150k AZ motor with nothing but Penzoil used in it? Very nasty looking.

Oh, yeah. I'm not trying to start a flame war here so everybody else chill. He' asked for our opinions and I'm giving mine.

AMSOIL OIL SYNTH WITH MOBIL FILTER OR PURE ONE PUROLATOR. PURE ONE HAS THE BEST PASS EFFICIENCIES (SLIGHTLY OVER MOBIL ONE) HOWEVER SOME QUESTION AS TO WHETHER EXCESSIVE PLEATING TO PRODUCE THIS HIGHER EFFICIENCY ACTUALLY IMPEADS OIL FLOW.

My car isn't some high performance beast, so I get whatever is on sale as long as it has a name brand. I usually use Penzoil or Valvolene and a Puralator or Fram filter

So I'm seein mostly Mobil 1 or Valvoline with a K&N filter or puralator or Mobil. Sounds good. But do I use the synthetic stuff or just the normal stuff? And is 70-75 oil pressure to high? if so, how do I lower it?

GUYS,

I may be wrong here, but I thought that synthetic was unsuitable for our older engines due to the different tolerances between the moving parts of our engines compared to todays modern stuff.
Anybody add something more to this??

I use Castrol Synthetic, and an AC Delco filter. Have for years, never a problem.
Stay away from those Teflon additives tho.

for my 180,000 mile car I use Valvoline Max life OR Valvoline VR4 Racing 20w-50.

For the oil filter I use Mobile 1, its 10 bucks but hell, you get what ya pay for.

Castrol GTX 20-50 is what I use. I know this stuff is thick...but I've just about everything to keep from burning oil and this seems to last the longest. It sucks when every weekend when you fill up...you dump a quart in. that's why I switched to the thick 20-50 GTX. I highly recommend the stuff.
