I found one in a local paper advertised for $100... and ended up paying $40 for it, but now its cracked and I have to get yet another one... you can buy covers for cheaper but I think all the major used parts places are getting top dollar for stock pads

go to a junk yard, best thing to do is to find a dashpad remove it then go and offer him a bit of cash for it, if the pad is already off they will take pretty much anything for it

Junkyard is the right way. Found a '92 with a cherrrrrry dash pad. Paid $12 bucks for it. I also got an overhead console with the map light and little flashlight, also in good shape. I don't really want to cut up my headliner, but I just couldn't resist buying it.

You know, I don't understand how those pads even get cracked like that to begin with. I've had 2 87 Camaros over the span of 8 years and I've never even seen so much as a hairline crack in either of my dash pads.

It happens when the dash pad is directly exposed to extreme..intense sun for 16 years. Without any type of ArmorAll or anything. It's one way to tell whether or not your car was kept in a garage.

Armor All will actually help dry it out and cause it to crack. Its the cold temperatures in the winter too. Mine has a hairline crack in it

I got mine from the junkyard for $100. I pulled it myself. I guess it all depends on where you live as to the price you have to pay.

My dash pad was mint for many years.
Till one winter, my tall friend hit it with her knee on entry
cracking it.
When they get cold, they get brittle.
Covering it with a fabric or cloth is a good idea. Too much reflection off of it stock. my cents
