My fuel tank is leaking!

My fuel tank is leaking!
Hi, I'm the new owner of a 1982 Pontiac Trans am that I imported to Greece from California few days ago. Yesterday I went to a gas station to fill up my car for the first time and when I returned back to my home I noticed that fuel was leaking from the gas tank. The gas tank is looking in great condition from outside and before my visit to the gas station (it had only 1/4 of gas left) it did not leaked...

Examine exactly where the leak is coming from.. Is it the tank, or the lines.. Dont attempt to fix, buy a new one..

Look around the straps. Mine was leaking there. It's an easy replacement as long as you can get parts in Greece.

Lots of people have/ had this issue. Myself included.
You'll have to remove the tank. It's not hard but not overly fun either. If the inside/ outside of the tank looks good, (you said that maybe around the straps) you can have the filler neck re-braised. Any rad shop can do it.
Correct me if I'm wrong guys but there is only one company that makes a new tank for this gen of a Camaro. I bought one and it didn't go well. Read my posts in this thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...-gas-tank.html

I had a tank repaired by a radiator shop once, apparently they need to be welded under water.

What? Lol. Tank replacement is simple.
All parts you see here I got at autozone.
Remove the cat back, lower the rear end, remove straps and take out tank. Install new tank in reverse. I replaced pump and sending unit too. Only doing this once!

Re: My fuel tank is leaking!
plastic LS1 tank will fit, that's what I have... you need to do a bit of wiring tho.
Also, I was never able to find a step by step guide for rear end removal, so I put together one in my build thread.
