Import Sport Look on RS CAMARO

I would like to know where I could find ground effects and a sporty wing for my RS CAMARO. I want that street/sporty import type body cause I think that it would make a pretty cool car. If anyone has watched fast and furious, you know what i mean. Any tips will help me complete my project. Thanx

wrong place to ask that. And why make a ***** out of a AMERICAN CAR. You are one of those people who take a good American design, throw some white trash and Asian looks at it and give us all a bad name. If you want an import look, GET AN IMPORT. DAMN, and this site was the worng place to ask that. Do us all a favor and sell your car before you hurt it and yourself...more it then you.

OMG, what have you done? I feel a mod riot coming No for real why would you buy an american car and want to make it look foreign? Just trade it in or sell it and buy an import. but if you have money Here is a link for a body kit:
http://www.k1-styling.sk/
thats a camaro body with a 8 thousand dollar kit on it.

I got the same responses when I asked for help locating a wing I liked. Whats the big deal? The only import looking body kit Ive seen for the camaro is made by FXDesigns. Check out the link. Personally I dont care for this one though.

I'll tell you what the deal is. When you look at most ricers what do you see in the drivers, Thugs, gasgster wannabes and losers who think that everything in the MOVIES is true. ricers look stupid and overdone, I tell you what, get some type R stickers and mix it with VTEC slap them all over your car the I will know it is yours and to have it impounded for a public disturbance. Get a life and if you like that ricy **** get a Jap Car not American one. Maybe If I am lucky this post will get locked soon and fall into the deep abyss of page 2 or 3

Man it is your car. Do what you want. There is a post about someone making clear lenses for our cars. Also some people have posted about a billet grill at www.street-beat.com. Hope this helps you get started.

I don't agree with your idea to make a Camaro look like an import AT ALL but I'm not gonna start yelling and screaming like some people. Its your car, do what you want. But be warned, if you do make it look like an import, be prepared to take A LOT of **** from people

Some thoughts on thirdgen styling:

early Z's: fake NACA scoops in hood
IROC's: fake hood louvers and a big-@ss grille opening who's only useful purpose is to mount foglights(which are essential for extracting max performance) and to force incoming air over a hot rad
91 - 92: hood bubbles(non-functional), brake scoops(non-functional), F40-style wing(non-functional)
all Z's: big stripes and letters(tres 70's) in contrasting colors that shout "LOOK AT ME"

Now I happen to like some kitschy ornamentation(especially louvers whose only purpose is to disrupt air flow over the hood), but I am not about to criticize someone who wants their ride to stand out, just because their aesthetic vision differs from mine.

Heres are a few things considered "Rice" on imports, but yet we have them on our cars... imagine that. well here...

Well I have a few things to add too...
1. BIG A$$ tachs for a 305 or smaller car.
2. Big 17 or bigger rims with the pathetic factory brakes showing through.
3. The BIG LOUD EXHAUST for the plain jane 305 or better yet the 2.8/3.1.
4. Massive sounds systems(Although I am guity of this).
5. Surgically grafted GTA side louvers into the camaro.
These are just the few thins I could think of right now.
Now we all either have done this or have quite a few freinds that have, or at least know of someone who has. Now Don't RICERS DO THIS *** WELL????. To put down what someone wants to do to THEIR car is ludicrous. I am sure that everyone here has done something to a car to make it look "faster then it really is" Hell I supped up the exhaust on a 76 chevy VAN for christs' sake.(though I did take out a 90 something rustang...Chopped it in half...LOL)... Anyway what we decide to do to our cars is our opinion and ours alone.

Hell I am looking into swapping in BMW 4 inch round quads and maybe even the supra tail lights with a truck roll pan. I think It'll look bad A$$ but you all will rip me a new one, calling me sacreligious. But what the FU(K do I care what you all think. I want someting new and different. I am sick of having only 3-4 plain jane body kits, and the same mods outwardly that everyone else has.

a dman 305 is a V8 so you can shut the **** up, rice is big exhaust on a four banger, some 6's sound good but most dont.....i do not like the 91-92 z wing either too high, maybe if i can chop it down a bit...... i personally like 305's they have the ability to rev higher and can be streetable below 3 grand and then kick *** above that all the way to 7 grand, plus every one and their brother has a 350 or a 454

No, anything that comes stock on a car is not RICE, it has to be put on there and in excessive amounts. We are also talking about people trying to make fast cars out of 38 sec 4 and 6 holes that are EXTREME ECONOMY Engines, the 3.1 and up engine do not fall under this. People with the 2.8 Camaros don't go out and buy 3 zillion bolt on parts and then slap them along with the stickers on their so they are not rice. The people with 2.8s have reasons for buying that car, Ricers by it b/c they see in on TV and in movies and want to look cool. I could go into this about to big of spoilers, extreme lowering(the half-assed way, not the correct way) and wheels, whick by the way are not rice, I don't consider...well most of them rice b/c they improve the exterior looks so much so that is ok on any car. I really don't car....bla bla bla I'm done.

The way I see it,...

most of the body kits, stickers, and loud and/or big exhausts, which seem to carry some cache with the import crowd, are just an outgrowth of what was happening to Camaro's and Mustangs in the late-eighties/early-nineties. if anything, they are emulating our cars, but taking it to another level(hmmm, something comes to mind about imitation being the most sincere form of flattery).

the fact that some f-body owners(and there have been more than a few lately) want to add these "import-style" elements to their rides, means it has come full-circle(the more things change,...)

and to the best of my knowledge, there is no sure way to tell from a quick glance whether that IROC in the next lane has an L98 or an L03. I've had my rear bumper relieved of the "5.7 Tuned Port Injection" emblems twice. which means one of the fake IROCs in town could just be 'stylin'. so, what do I care if someone wants to put a "Type R" sticker on their Civic. at least they paid for it.

the reason I bought my first IROC was: I liked the way it looked. and after three years(and three IROCs), I still like the way it looks(and I really like the way it performs).

it's simple, if a cars performance can back up it's looks, if it's as fast as it looks, i don't think it's rice. like an rx7, a lot of people may consider that rice, but unless you've done some nice work to your f body, you're gonna be calling it rice while he's waiting for you at the finish line.

I think that if you want to make any american car look like an import....your best bet is to buy a mustang. I have no problem with mustangs, I actually like some a little(even though TA's and camaros are my favorite).Well any ways...my point is that I see a lot of my friends and other people in my High School making thier car look more and more like imports. Some put a ton of stickers, others put fake cobra emblems on thier 4 cylinder LX, while others put 18" rims. I have seen clear tail lights, and the euro-style tail lights made for these cars as well. Do us here a favor, and just sell your camaro and buy a stang. Stangs are nice cars, and would be much easier to fix up to look like an import. Do what you want, it is your car. And if you decide on keeping your car, just post pics, I would be interested to see how your car comes along. Oh yea, and to those flaming about rice....remember the only rice is Uncle Ben's. Why I said that...I dont know, I guess it was time to say something stupid on this message board for once.

I agree that the L03 is a dog for a V8, but when you start comparing it to an I4, I have to defend it. Peak horsepower means little, there is alot more to an engine. If you look at the specs of those 160 hp VTEC's, they make their peak power at around 8000 rpm, with almost nothing below it, because they have no torque. While the L03 only has 170 hp, it also has 255 ft/lbs or torque, meaning the peak horsepower is at a much more usable rpm, and a much better power band. I'd like to see how many of those "160 hp" sub 2.0's can drive around in overdrive at 35 mph, with stock gears...

Oh like you can't take a saw and cut the holes to make those scoops functional? Nonfunctional hood scoops are just for putting a bigger intake in without worrying about water on the distro.

A 3rd gen with loud exhaust & big chome tips is ***** with 4 more cylinders. Both have to have someting loud to have people really give a damm to look to see what the hell is driving by.

I won't go into other reasons why diehards don't like 'rice' cars.

To keep on the subject, if you can implemt styling onto your car and make it look as though it came that way yet be different, more power to you

Actually those Vtecs are pushing more that 170 HP and they can more the car their in as well... And not to mention that quite a few import V6's have well over 250 HP... Not going to the twin T's either... They are just ugly... But hey there rice though. ANd before you say there not because they are performers, By 3rd genners own words import=rice.

Just cause someone wants to change the way THEIR car looks does not make anything about it rice. I like the overall look of the camaro but it is very far from the way I want it. I plan on doing extensive fiberglass modifacations, including lengthening and re shaping the nose, the ground FX and the rear clip.

Ah since when were the louvers on any year Camaro were ever truly functional? They were all cosmetic. The brakes scoop are functional, they cool the rotors better under heavy braking. The wing is functional, creates better downforce and more tire contact on the road. This is f'n rediculous,I didn't think that anyone's tastes could be more picky or particular than a F A G until now.I guess that every year Camaro is rice since they had so many non-functional cosmetic items on them. You all need to grow up if you want to be in a man's muscle/hotrod/customized car hobby world.

The fact that you claim the fake brake scoops are functional shows how little you know about your supposed '91. As for the F40-style wing,... it creates lift - not downforce - when your roadspeed exceeds 80 mph. Below that speed the wing, by virtue of size, shape and location, creates almost no aerodynamic effects other than drag.

Well at least I don't looklike everyone else on the planet! LMAO......I can't get over how you guys get all wound up and then start insulting each other. I like CARS and it doesn't matter what is under the hood. If you want to drop a small block in a chevette all the power as long as I get to try it out. People need to chill a bit and enjoy cars for what they were meant to do..... GO REALLY FAST.

P.S. I haven't seen the Fast and the Furious but I agree with one line in the preview; Speed is the most addictive thing on the planet.

whoa ho ho.... how many of the import car REALLY have VTEC and Twin T?! Hummm, I like in one of the most aflient (spelling) counties in NJ and there is only ONE true HI-PER import in the student parking lot, which is huge by the way. That car runs low 13s off the bottle and NA, more power to him but....just ike other ricers he does have some wierd looks on his car and that just destroys it and of the other 15 ricers in the lot, THEY ALL ARE LOOK A LIKE WANNA BE LOSERS.

I'm a thirdgenner and never have or would say that. Don't generalize. I have much respect for the true performance imports i.e. Supras, 3000GT VR4's and the like.

Well the vast majority here bashes anyone that wants THEIR CAR to look different. I want something different, not just another 3rd gen clone.

Man with all these complaints. I mean hell I am sick of having the same $hit on my car as everyone else. No one makes anything different nowadays, it's the same old (rap. Hoods, very select ground FX, even more select body kits and you have the tail light and head light covers... THATS IT PEOPLE, WE NEED SOMETHING NEW. I want something that disgenquishies my camaro from every other clone out there. Heck there arn't even that many good looking rims for our cars now... You have to use spacers to run the 93 up style to get something new.
This "IT'S RICE" NAME CALLING NEEDS TO FU(KIN STOP!. We need some new ideas to make our cars unique again!. For quite a few years when the 3rds came out they were one of the best looking cars out there, sadly they have fallen very low on the scale now. I know mine needs work and does not look great in primer gray and in need of a drivers door, but hell. I still want it to have something that no other 3rd has.
I want to mod the hell outta mine, doing fiberglass work everywhere and using different headlights(leaning to the 3 series BMW) and even new tails(looking at the 96-up Supra)I don't care if it's an import it looks good. Have you seen their tails...They look bad a$$. I want to make a new front clip with a wider more open air intake and mount 4-5 inch fog lights there(like the rally style) And have funtional air scoops to the brakes even. I want to reshape the rear clip to mount the exhaust tips in the center and have a rear clip simalar to the new vette. These are just a few of my ideas... It pays to pick up a truckin mag every once in a while to get ideas...
I also plan on swapping in a big 550 pony motor but its still gonna be a 6 banger. What you ask????... A 4.3 turbo Cyclone motor. I am looking at that becase it will easily take the new LS1's and maybe hang with a vette... Or maybe beat it out... at max boost(31PSI) LOL... I may even get around to swapping in the vette C4 rear end... But thats a ways down the road.

The point of all this banter...
IT'S YOUR CAR DO WHAT YOU LIKE TO IT. YOU DO NOT NEED ANYONES PERMISSION TO MODIFY IT TO THE WAY YOU LIKE IT!. WHY SHOULD YOU CARE IF SOMEONE ON THIS BOARD DOES NOT LIKE IT?, IS THE CAR THEIRS?. ARE YOU THAT INSECURE ABOUT YOUR DECISIONS?. TRY GROWING A SET. DO THE MOD, TAKE A PIC AND POST IT. YOU MAY FIND THE PEOPLE TRASHING THE IDEA TURNING AROUND RATHER QUICKLY.

Peace.. D.

WHY IS DUAL EXHUAST *****?? HOW MANY CAMAROS HAVE DUAL EXHAUST ON THEM?? WITH TIPS? DOn't even go calling that rice, becuase they all put those fat oversized coffee cans on there cars. Almost every mustang, camaro and firebird, or Olds 422 or even Monte Carlo all have like dual exhuast. It makes it should cool. Damn lets end this subject. I'm all for modding your car.

Well It beats writting it every single time someone calls something "RICE" just cause they don't like how it looks... Right teal?... And what is wrong with making YOUR CAR LOOK THE WAY YOU WANT IT TO?. And sense when it it "trite" to think independantly?.

hunter, do a a favor and shut-up...if you want to do all that do it, and if you want to look like a dumb-assed white trach asian wanna be then go a head but DON'T ASK ON A BOARD LIKE THIS, GO ASK ON ANOTHER ONE. Has the orginal poster even replied to this post to defend him self. Maybe we saved another Camaro for a horrable rice-a-fied death. They are American MASS PRODUCED CARS no ASIAN ONES, go ahead and change your car but don't reflect imports just use you mind....oh wait forgot, I am talking to hunter here can't use his mind to figure out creative things, has to see it first on other cars....DAMN there are plenty of things you can do to a camaro, Wheels....there are so many of them and about equal number for import cars. If you are basing you information of autoparts stores then you got the wrong idea, they display *****/import stuff because it is the lates thing and they don't care, they want MONEY. Now if you want to creat a ***** car go ahead but stop asking how to do it here, it is asking for trouble, that Corvett thing was a good idea, just keep thinking and maybe you mind will hit 2nd gear sometime. Use your head, don't post IMPORT STUFF ON AN AMERICAN CAR MESSAGE BOARD!!!, FUCN' DUMBA$$ES.

oh yeah and look into the import stuff, you will see there are not that many more options, if any, then the Camaro/Firebird/Mustang/Corvett Line.

I know, I know they are more exspensive cars, bla bla bla.....yeah, compare it in terms of go vs money and how much money it take to go, then tell me the value and just how much more there is for the imports. SHOVE IT!!!!
