what should asking price be

ok, so I just found out I would need to go to court to get a replacement title for my camaro and I don't want to have to go to that much trouble and time, seeing as what I drive now gets around 8mpg, so I'm thinking I may just sell it.I just dont know what I should be looking to get for it. here's the overlook:

1988 camaro Iroc-z
strong 305 tpi
has a 700r4 but i have started a t56 swap so the 700r4 isnt in it, 700r4 has a bad 3-4 clutch.
new front brake pads
new thermostat
new mood tie rod inner and outers and mood centerlink
new left side ball joint and spindle
new driver side door pin and bushing but still needs a new upper hinge and tracking pin
grant gt steering wheel
older dynamax muffler and magnaflow tips
new hood lift supports

and the bad
needs 2 new tires
body is in good shape but needs to be painted, very little serface rust
needs new weatherstripping on doors and upper door trim panel on driver side
needs new hatch pull down motor.
driver side seat has a hole in it and needs a new mechanism

I will probabley be keeping the t56 swap parts and all the 700r4 stuff will go with the car.once again, the car has no title but has registered plates to 2012. the guy I bought it from got it from an impound lot so thats the reason for no title.

here are some pics.

so, any thoughts on what the asking price should be, or what you think I could get if I part it out? I only put $1300 in it besides the t56, so would I break even selling it?

Re: what should asking price be

well it would make for a nice drag car with no paperwork .1300 would sound fair enough if i were in the market . if you wanted to part it you might get a little more but it would take a little time to get it .

Re: what should asking price be

I made a serious cash offer. If he'd sell it I would pick it up today.

The thig is, it has no title, he bought it without one so who knows how many hands it's been through without paperwork, it doesn't run because the transmission doesn't work and was removed, and if it did run it would need tires. It's not worth (to me) anywhere near $1,300.

Re: what should asking price be

well like bluezee said, he offered. if I cant get the title you'll be first on my list.
my dad won't let me sell it for that much until we try to get a title.
No, the trans doesn't work. yes, i'm in the process of swapping in a t56 (you can see the pedals already).

the guy I bought it from got it from an impound lot as an abandoned salvage.

the first plan is to get the title history to try and find who the last person to have the title was, and get in touch with them.
If that doesn't work, apparently we would have to go to court to get it. I would pay anything up to $800 to get a title from all the work I have put into it. I just wouldn't know where to start?

yeah, same thing I was thinking. I'd like to start new, but I still owe 900 for the t56 and 700 to snap-on, so I can't immedietly start saving for another car.

I'd be careful about tracking down a previous owner to get a title...they may decide they want the car back and it's legally in their name, so if they want it back, they will get it back. I'd hate to see you get in trouble over it.

See if Josh will mind you getting your money back on the T56 parts you've already bought. I don't think I would have dropped close to $1,500 on a transmission for a car that you didn't have the title to, but that's just me.

Re: what should asking price be

well he waited on me for 2 months to get it, so I don't really want to pull out now- he's too nice of a guy.

and if nothing else I'll go to court to get the title or call the police for the guy I bought it from- thats what my neighbor says.

and I still plan on using the t56. if not in this car, another one I get. I really don't like automatics on a fun car

Re: what should asking price be

I wouldn't put a T56 behind a 305TPI anyways, you won't have enough ***** to use 6th gear. I'd suggest a T5 for a 305TPI or upgrade to an L98 for the T56. (the L98 and T56 would be my choice )

I looked into putting a T56 from an LT1 in my car when it had the original 305TPI in it, and it just didn't seem worth spending that much on a transmission that wouldn't really benefit me with the engine I was using. A friend of mine said his car was actually slower when he swapped out his T5 for a T56 with a 305TPI.

problem is I already cut the gas pedal bracket of the pedals. so the pedals will have to go in a third gen. if that wouldn't matter, then maybe.still working on the title. sent the letter for title history and registration history 3 days ago
