I run a 8g main alternator to battery cable, removed the fusible link, then again, im also running an engine out of an 85 caprice, but I haven't had any problems so far..
Thanks guys, im going to be running 0ga from alternator to battery, in fact i already did. But i dont know what to do about the fusible link? do i just splice it into the 0ga? i dont think the car will turn on with out it, what should i do about that?
i went on the the website provided, which is where i got the idea to upgrade, but this is not camaro specific, and im having a hard time just deciding what to do about the fusible link? any ideas would help...thank you....

If you ran 0 from the alt to battery already, you're basically bypassing the factory wire anyways There is no need for that whole wire now, since your your new wire is connecting the same 2 points. That is if it's the wire I'm thinking of.
thanks again, the post was helpful. i switched to 0 ga and just split the cable insulator enough to allow me to connect the fusible link. hope it works when i install the battery. i also swithed the grounds to 0ga. Im running a JLW-7 and JL 1000/V2 & JL450/4,,,on a 89roc convertible 5spd. i was told i should upgrade the cables w/ this set up...

Your gonna need more then wiring upgrade. I got almost same setup except W6v2 and 300/4 I needed a better alt or else my battery would die or my lights would flicker. Get all 3 upgraded (alt [160 amp], battery[I use a s10 desiel battery], wiring 0 or 4 gauge) and you should be good. DON'T GET A CAP! DON'T BAND AID UR SYSTEM UP WITH THAT GARBAGE! you must of spent at least 1000-2000$ or so for that setup so don't go doing a trashy job
im doing the same thing on my car, but i noticed the alternator power cable splices then somehow just ends up back at the battery.... should i just add 0 gauge from the alt to that battery and just leave the factory wiring untouched? will my car still turn on?
