Re: 750 cfm dominator carb

750 is kinda on the small side, i'd be looking to resell it and get something bigger, or research if you can make it larger by swapping parts.

You can't increase the CFM of a carb without fairly significant modification.

Re: 750 cfm dominator carb

I think so. You're going to need a lot of air to feed that thing. I'm assuming you're going to be racing this engine?

Here is a carb sizing tool that may help. http://www.4secondsflat.com/Carb_CFM_Calculator.html

IMO, you should call or email BG, Holley, or a carb professional to get your sizing right.

Re: 750 cfm dominator carb

If you only have $100 tied up in it then put it on and go for it it's better to be a lil small than too big. I've seen too many cars slow down by stepping up to what they were told is "proper size". As long as you already have a dominator flange intake, what do ya have to lose? It'll either run or it won't.

Re: 750 cfm dominator carb

Check the list number on the carb and look it up. The 750 should have smaller throttle bores than the 1050.

Re: 750 cfm dominator carb

Maybe a little too late since you've traded, but the flow rating on the
Holley is a wet flow test. It would probably outflow and outperform the
850 Proform carb.

Re: 750 cfm dominator carb

Bolt the 850 on if you already have it.
When you get to the strip, make a few passes to get a baseline, then borrow a 1050 and watch your MPH difference. I'll bet it wants the 1050 all day!
