just bought this carb today for $100 HOLLEY 750CFM Dominator Carb. list #80186-2565 will this work on a 454 bbc bored .060 over with 12 to 1 compression and a .629 lift cam
does anyone on here know if u can make the cfm bigger with a dominator i was looking the throttle blades look the some size as a 1050 cfm on is it just jetting
If you only have $100 tied up in it then put it on and go for it it's better to be a lil small than too big. I've seen too many cars slow down by stepping up to what they were told is "proper size". As long as you already have a dominator flange intake, what do ya have to lose? It'll either run or it won't.
ok this might sound like a dumb question but i put my dominator carb up to a 1050 cfm dominator and it looks exactly the same as mine how do i find what cfm I actually have
Maybe a little too late since you've traded, but the flow rating on the
Holley is a wet flow test. It would probably outflow and outperform the
850 Proform carb.
Bolt the 850 on if you already have it.
When you get to the strip, make a few passes to get a baseline, then borrow a 1050 and watch your MPH difference. I'll bet it wants the 1050 all day!
