I have an aluminum radiator out of an iroc that was an auto, so it has a trans cooler in it. Im wondering if i can use this as an oil cooler. im pretty sure it would work, but im not sure if the lines are too small, or if it would be able to carry enough volume. Any insights would be appretiated. Thanks

I don't recall any of these cars coming with a trans cooler from the factory. That's all I can say on the matter...

The metal lines on the passenger side of the tranny going up to the radiator are the tranny cooler. Its inside the passenger-side tank of the radiator.

I thought about doing this too but never seriously considered it.

Well looking at different engine oil coolers, the lines are usually 1/2" or better.

If i remember correctly, ??, trans lines are 5/16"

Yeah, I'd get an aftermarket cooler becuase: 1. better flow, 2. shorter oil lines.

well thanks guys, i guess it probably wont flow enough volume which could possibly end up in some spinning bearings, that would suck. thanks again for telling me before i tried.
