Re: Help picking out a water pump!?
unless youre making some serious power (and serious heat) a stock replacement pump will be fine.

ok, well I'm definitely not making much more power past stock. Would you recomend any particular brand or should I just find something that fits? thanks!

just dont go buy the cheapest one you can find. cheap and quality dont go together.... pep boys usually offers a good water pump with the option of a life time warrenty.

just make sure to get the regular rotation pump if you have the vbelt accesories and the reverse rotation one if you have the serpintine belt

Re: Help picking out a water pump!?
I just called my local advanced and they said it has the limited lifetime waranty. pretty much, as long as I don't modify it, the warranty is still good.

Just don't buy a new one, get a reman.
The new ones are cast too thick. An reman with a new bearing and seal is a much better piece in terms of quality, and it's cheaper to boot.

If you want a good alloy water pump, get an edelbrock. I've had one on my 84 vette since 97 or so, never leaked a drop. They have hi-flow impellars & heavy duty bearings. I'd say the extra 100 bucks over the china crap is worth it.

Re: Help picking out a water pump!?
Well, I was gonna get the one I talked about earlier in this thread but the guy at the garage I get my work done at said he had one in stock that he said would be good and it was only $30. No clue what the brand was but he said he's always advised putting that particular one on older sport cars like ours.
