Factory ECM? Newbie wants to know...
Hey guys. I just bought a 91 RS (February). As you all may know, it comes equipped with TBI. I plan on building another engine for the car and putting a carb on it. Hopefully in the not so far future, I want to install EFI. Due to $$$ limitations, I dont think I'll be able to afford an Accel DFI, F.A.S.T., or an Electromotive unit. Which means I might be going with another Factory ECM.
Where and how did you guys learn all of this stuff? Are there any reference guides out there that I can pick up? Where can I find the necessary equipment to burn proms? Where are the programs necessary to program the maps? How fast can you go on the factory ECM?
Basically, I would appreciate it if you guys would steer me in the right direction so that I can get started on learning this stuff.
Many many thanks in advance.

Rear read and read.
try the archives at the DIY-EFI.org site and the DIY PROM board here.
Saw a GN run an 8.9 two weeks ago on the stock ecm. And that is 1/4 mile. Granted had the injector drivers changed, a $130 modification. You can run up to 50 PPH injectors, and that would be good for a bunch of HP.
If you mean for your TBI, it takes work to get 325 HP from a TBI.
