1986 camaro eprom

hope someone can give me some help need it real bad ,ok ill try to start from the beginning ok the eprom i have is a 1603659 and i needed updates so i researchand found that the latest one with all th updates was 16087038 ,now this is on a 86 4speed auto ,but when i replaced the eprom it fried the computure dont know what happen but what i am asking is if anybody that has had to do the updates on theres or can do some resesrch to make sure that the eprom that i got for theupdatesthe 16087038 is he right one and can tell me why it fried the computure ,man you would not know how much help you would be giveing me

like i said sorry to sound dumb but iam just going off what i was told i dont know what a bcc is just trying to find out what eprom to use so it dont fried my computure

The original eprom has a silver sticker with three to four letters on it. This is the identification broad cast code (Bcc)

that was switch out before the only thing that i know that the eprom that was in in was a 1630659 thats all i know ,when i spoke to gm they told me that the 1630659 was replaced with the 16087038 ,but it fried my computure ,then whem i told the gm dealer about what happen they said that i could have been a bad eprom ,what iam trying to find out is if the 16087038 eprom is the right one or are they makeing a mistake like i said its for a 1986 camaro with a 2.8 with air and is a 4speed auto,thats all i have to go by

the 16087038 is for 86 1227302 ecm 2.8l 700r4 trans $3A definition. Did you disconnect the battery before you installed the new eprom ?
