Blinker issues
This isn't a big problem or anything, but here goes: When I turn on a blinker, it pauses for a good 1 to 1.5 seconds before coming on, and it blinks faster than normal. It's done this the whole time I've had the car, but my former Camaro didn't do this. The blinker would come on as soon as I switched it on. Any ideas?

I had one blinker going slower than the other, and it was due to the bulb contacts not being clean. I found that by checking the resistance in the circuit on each side. The relay speed was a function of the resistance in the circuit. If you take a bulb out, on some they wont blink at all.

It happens on both blinkers, though. And the bulbs are new. Is the "flasher" some kind of electrical unit that operates all the blinker lights?

the flasher actaully causes the lights to blink. if the flasher goes completely bad the lights wont work at all. there is a hazard flasher and a turn signal flasher. both are up under the driverside dash panel by the steering column. the hazard is 1st and the turn signal is second a little higher up.
when you hit the hazard lights or turn signal switch you can hear the flasher open and shut under the dash. go to the parts store 1st and pick 1 up so you know what your are looking for, little metal cups basicly. i'd bet that will fix your problem.
although my car does have a new flasher and when i hit the signal switch it the light does not blink right that second it takes 1/2 second or so. i'm used to the light coming on instantly but clearly in this case its a chevy thing. but i would say your problem is a flasher issue, taking 1.5 seconds and then blinking fast sounds like a flasher going bad. the oposite is also possible where the lights slow down until they simply stop either on or off.

I want to know which joker at Chevy decide to call the place where they hide the flasher units the convenience center. It is almost inaccessable without twisting yourself upside down.
Do the hazard lights work OK?

if you can reach those flashers without lying on your back your better then me. I couldnt even find mine without lying on my back.
Hey good point... the hazards are on seperate flasher so if that system works like normal then the signal flasher is definately going bad. then again the hazard flasher could be sketchy as well. i replaced both at once myself since i though the hazard was the signal and replaced it, dang lights had me fouled too. started working great 2 days later stopped again. duh wrong flasher.
