Problem after swap!
I Got the 406 in ..all wired up..ready to go..I labled all my wires when I took the 327 out. Put them back the same way. when I turn the key I get a click , but it wont turn over. I do the screwdriver deal and she popped right off...and I must say she sounds pretty bad ***.
I get no power to the single purple lead anywhere. all the others are live.
I can just wire in a push button, as this is a track only car...if anyone cares to take the time to tell me how, it would be greatly appreciated....I checked a double checked all my connections and fusible links and all seems well. Thanks in advance!!

What post do you have the purple wire on, is it on the small post marked "S". It goes from the starter solenoid to the Park/Neutral switch on an automatic and the clutch start switch on a manual.

Yep ...Thats where I have it..the connector will only fit on that post..If I take a wire from the battery and a wire from the start post and put a button in between,, will that work?

I take that you have removed the computer associated items out if you are using it as a track car. BTW, you wouldn't be getting any power from the purple wire until the key was turned and the circuit from the ignition switch to the starter was completed.

On the nuetrul safety switch you have 5 wires
3 small ones
and 2 larger ones, the large ones one is Purple and the other is Yellow. These two need wired togeather or have the correct switch for your shiffter application installed. I would wire them togeather to make sure you get power and then get the proper switch.
Just my .02

BTW MTPFI-MAF,
There is no yellow wire going to the Park/Neutral switch on his car. It is a dark green/white wire which comes off the starter enable relay and goes to pin "F". The yellow wire goes to the Clutch Start Switch on a manual. Please note that I said on his car which had the starter enable relay with the two yellow wires coming off the ignition switch instead of going to the Park/neutral switch as in earlier models.

thanks, I should be somewhere in the mid 11's if all goes well. Im hoping to be in the 10's with a few more upgrades and much more $$$..the motors original owner put $7000 in the motor and Ive added about $4000 more in the car. So it better do something or I'll be really .
Somewhere along the line I lost my tail lights and brake lights. I wouldnt worry about it but a few of the bracket classes I plan to run require tail lights and one working brake light. I didnt cut any wires coming from the rear..but I did take alot from the passenger side when I ripped the computer out. Any Ideas on where I should start looking?
