1986 Headlight wiring schematics requested.

I am looking for the schematics for the headlamp motors in my 86. I need to find the motor trigger wire(s) so that I can install a switch to raise/lower the lights without turning the headlamps on and then pulling the rocker switch back out, leaving just the parking lamps on.

Thanks in advance!!!

Here ya go. It looks like you can tap into the yellow wire between the dimmer switch and the isolation relay, and use a diode to prevent the headlights from lighting up when power is put to the yellow wire. A 1N5401 should be heavy enough. Install the diode with the striped end toward the relay.

Thanks for the pic. Upon studying the schematic, I believe there is more involved than a simple diode. The white wire needs to go open when the yellow wire goes high. A simple dpdt relay should do the trick.

Thanks!

Not yet. Haven't found the isolation relay module yet. Is it under the dash or under the hood? This will be a simple DPDT switch mod, no relays or diode required.

The isolation relay is mounted on the firewall near the power booster.

Hmmmm... I only seem to have the fuel pump relay and the radiator fan relay there. There is an empty connector there as well... Is there something different about my '86...?

Sorry, I was suffering from a lack of concentration when I posted that and was thinking of the later models that used a quide module. Your isolation relay is located on the right hand front side of the car hidden behind the cruise control servo.
BTW, if you will do a search of the board you will find the schematics for the headlight doors that I have posted several times.
