Fusible link battery to alt

i broke the fusible link goes from the battery to the alternator. I spliced the wires and am running it with out the link in place but getting low voltage. Is it safe for the long run to Just run a 4 gauge wire from the alt. to that block in between the batt. and the rad.?

I ran 4 guage wire from alternator to battery and noticed my lights don't dim when my stereo (no subwoofer) hits really hard. I reccomend the upgrade.

What about just adding a fuse inline? I have no idea what amperage it would have to be.

Mine didn't have a fusible link between those two. Just ran the wire from the alternator to + terminal of the battery.
