Transmission: 6 speed
Starter Enable Relay
Just a quick question...I've got an 89 where the wiring diagrams show a "starter enable relay".
Is this only for the VATS circuit? As in if I ditch the VATS do I still need the relay? Diagram is a little confusing to me on this one particular item.

The relay can be deleted at any time because even it you kept VATS active,
it would still disable the injectors to prevent the engine being started without the correct key
One less item to fail on a aging car
