New Opti and still having problems
I replaced the Opti and i'm still having problems. When I accelerate mild to hard it's like riding a bucking Bronco and like it's losing electrical power. When I let off the gas it goes away. Any ideas ? ......... thanks

Just a thought....but could it be a loose wire some where that moves upon accelaration? Try double check all those including the wires at the plugs. You may even want to unplug and replug everything back in.

Is your water pump leaking? Sounds like the opti is getting wet. You should get a diag scan to help you zero in on the problem.

check your o2 sensors. when mine went out it was running pig rich and had the same problem. If thats not it, then its something with the Opti. could be loose wires, water like previously mentioned, or you might have the same problem I did. When I put my opti back on after a cam swap, the dowel pin got pushed in slightly too far, went to put the opti back on and it didn't get located on the dowel pin correctly. ended up being about 20 degrees off. idled alright, drove like absolute ****.

Same thing you're describing happened to my IROC. After a ton of fiddling around, it turned out my brand new Accel coil's epoxy casing had cracked. Bad coil.
On a side note, the Accel replacement coil came loose in the housing after about a month. Don't even get me started on thier ignition module. I won't buy Accel ever again.

I have a Coil ordered (GM) I took it back to the shop and they looked everything over, nothing found. It's not throwing codes and they claimed to have checked all the sensors. Think i'm gonna bite the bullet and take it to a local shop that has a Dyno so they can create the problem under load conditions. There goes my money for my 4.56 gear install, oh well

Did you check your fuel pressure? Have you replaced the fuel filter recently?

I had the injectors flow tested before I put them in.... I did run it low on gas a few times and they could have picked up some crap from the bottom of the tank. I'll check them out tomorrow..... Thanks
