BBC 650hp combo ?

I'll start my BBC build soon and I am looking for ideas. Can someone give me a good proven budget big block combo that will get at least 650 hp.

Re: BBC 650hp combo ?

i just happened to be reading this months Chevy high preformance and they did a BBC VS SBC , they had a budge of 6,500 bucks for each

there BB was a 505 and made 622hp with 500 trq

was bored and stroked 4.350 x 4.250 , 10.5:1 comp

i auclt have the full listing of parts they used

which did not include the block they happened to have on hand

the small block they used was a 422 made 574 hp with 543 trq and costed the same price as the BB

Re: BBC 650hp combo ?

650 HP isnt to extremly hard to get out of a BB. Do some searching and youll find what you need.

Re: BBC 650hp combo ?

496 with a roller cam and a good set of heads should be able to get you there. Then you can watch your driveline scatter across the road
Scat, Eagle, and World Products all have 496 bottom end kits pretty cheap. I'll be using the forged eagle or world kit for mine. I've heard nothing but good things about AFR CNC'd heads also.

What are the cam specs?
----------
ANd as stated, go ahead and get a good tranny, th400 or glide, and a 9" rear. Not to mention SFCs.

Agreed.

But, 650 hp and streetability is going to be about impossible to get NA.

That combo is gonna need a 4000-5000 stall converter and 4.30 or better gears.

If you want 650 hp and good street manners its time to look at forced induction. A very mild 454 with a procharger will easily do it and be streetable.
