For one, you must have loads of money burning a hole in your pocket.... oval tubing is expensive, so are those lo-pro flowmasters. Looks stock, huh? It won't sound stock after that mod! If you do it, post pics and soundclips.

i figure i'll have about 300-400 bucks in it for everything. it's steap, but i love side exaust like on cup cars. i should get the same flow or better than the mufflex 4" single right? i have worked with scca and grand-am race teams, also been in racecar fabrication since i was a little kid, but i am still learning what works with the third gens and what doesn't. you guys seem to know the low-down on pretty much everything and thats cool. money to burn, NOPE(i really wish i did!!hehe) . poor 22-year old here, but its taken me this long to get where i am at on this project, i just really want something unique that you guys will hopefully like

yep. small, thin, could place it right under the tailshaft and run to oval 3's to right in front of the tires for a clean, side exit. thanks, pat

A pair of these went for $61.

Those are called BOOM TUBE muffilers
http://www.drgas.com/product.asp?id=21
deff worht the price if you finish it off with oval exh and do it right.
Looks for a recent OVAL EXH post. I posted some more info in there about oval systems. Dual 3inch oval exh is OVER KILL.
Ive talked to spin tech about this a few times befor I desided to go Twin Turbos. dual oval 2 1/2 is enough for over 500 RWHP and give you pleanty of ground clearance. if you want they can cut the 2 1/4 muffilers down more also..

Ummmm, did you see the price on those? Oh, only $700! Winston Cup, OK, I can see that, but man, by the time you add the price of that up with headers, pipe, etc. you could have built yourself a nice little motor. Hey, I think we should convince someone to do it so WE can hear it!

Just doing dual oval exh. into a x pipe into 2 spintech muffs with side exits was gona cost me $700-800ish.
with doing 2 boon tube style muffs and oval tube and a x pipe will easily cost you 1200+ and I dont see it being worth it.
The Boom tubes ARE NOT A MUFFILER TYPE SETUP. they are straight through designs for nascar/winston cut.
You mise well just run dual ovals with oval tips and no muffilers for that price. belive me I talked to Dr.gas about the setup for my 418 when I had Hooker Super COmp Lt's. but I desided to go twin turbos and do do a true dual wiht oval now is just a waste.

another option for side exit...
Instead of duals why not go with 3" or 4" single to dual outlets before wheels. i have a bone stock 305TBI and did it with 2.5". when sitting in the drivers seat i can see the front twist when the engine is reved. never did that before :lala: my setup is this:
1.stock to y-pipe
2.highflo 2.5 cat
3.glasspack ( no flames please im going for old school sound)
4.mini 6" long y-pipe
5. 2x 2.5 inch side exits
for my little 5 liter 2.5 is plenty. for you tpi and 350+ guys i bet 3 or 4" would work good. get a bullett muffler on there if ya dont like glasspacks, or any other space saving type. also for space you can notch out a little bit of the torue arm ( i did and it causes no problems for me) and for ground clearance you can drop the diameter tubing down since the flo will have two exit possibilities (less pressure) its just a suggestion price? mine was 390 (less than many exhaust systems) and this was fully custom. im sure you all could do it yourself and save even more.
