a couple of questions

i'm swapping in a scoggin-dickey vortec tpi crate motor

i want to get headers for it
1.what would be the best headers?, i've read longtubes will scrape on a lowered car(which i have)

2. will i have to get a new y-pipe or will shorties bolt up to my stock one?

3. i want ceramic coated ones

thanks

Hooker 2055's fit my 350 HO Deluxe which has Vortec heads. The Y-pipe is the best available, IMO; however, it sits a bit low (search for more info). Why consider headers in the first place if you're going to restrict flow with a stock Y-pipe (which would never bolt up anyway). Do it right the first time.

my cat is welded to my stock y-pipe, how would the exhaust shop connect the new y-pipe to the cat?

You could go with a Catco 9118 which is a direct fit (along with a Hooker catback should you be willing to spend the bucks). At any rate, any self-respecting muffler shop should be able to fix you up.

They'll cut it off the old one and weld it to the new one.

To my knowledge, no set of aftermarket hearders will bolt to the stock Y-pipe. Again, why bother? The stock Y-pipe's restriction would make the headers next to worthless. Try Jeg's p/n 520-2055.

Comes with the Y-pipe. That price doesn't include coating.
