Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
All the 3rd gen headers Ive ever messed with required shorty plugs
I dont see the big deal with them. They're offered in multiple heat ranges, last a decent amount of time and dont have any major quality issues

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
update.....since I have my new engine in place I bolted the headers up in place and they fit great. they are actually the exact same as the jegs/flowteck/summit shorties BUT they are much beefier in material used.
looks like ill have to use 90degree plugwires with em.

don't you know orange spark plugs are the "it" thing these days (i have new plugs going in lol)
as for fitment they don't hit at all not even on the steel waterline in my second picture
and as for how they will hold up...time will tell,my camaro isnt a daily driver and is in during winter.

So no plug clearance issue after all?
Love to get an accurate measurement of tubes as well.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Looks like the Chinese just got a copy of other headers and copied them.
They do look good though!
Glad to hear they fit well and they look like great value.
Thanks for the pics.
My car is Right Hand Drive, and space for headers is tight because of the steering shaft. If you get a chance I'd appreciate more pics of the right side to get an idea about clearances.

He got the ones listed as 1.5" primaries. I was really hoping someone would get the ones listed as 1.75" primaries to see if there's any false advertising going on. Who know's, maybe they're actually offered in different sizes.

They're also extremely expensive. And us Third genners for the most part seem to be extremely poor.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Soundslike the verdict is that these cheap stainless steel Chinese headers are a good deal.
Just need to figure out if they are all the same or if one type is better/bigger than the other ones.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Have any of the Chinese knock off parts ever proven to be a good deal? True you save a buck on the front end, but when you have a problem there's no manufacturer support. When they crack, rust out, or otherwise fail, you're stuck. Not to mention the economic suicide of supporting business sending jobs overseas. You're sending good money over seas, to support a manufacturer who stole their design from the companies here that actually care about how happy the customer is with their product. In effect you're putting the real developer of the part, out of business because you're cheap.
Just say no to Chinese garbage.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
It's pretty simple, if you want a good product, support a vendor that actually gives a damn about that product. If more people bought a higher quality header, they'd be more affordable.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
The big thing is that the Chinese are keeping their exchange rate artificially low to encourage exports.
The Chinese are actually pretty dumb. They are doing all the dirty jobs, cheaply, to subsidise a better standard of living in the West.
If you bought these headers, think of it as stealing maybe $100 from the Chinese.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
(for the people who want to know)
for the people that wanted to know more about the measurements on them heres some pics of the fitment also, including driver side.
primary's measure 1 5/8" (posted 1 1/2)
collector is 2 1/2
did some hard looking...cant find any spots of rubbing CLOSE but no. Another set of the same headers may depending on how the jig or whatever is set,but in my case its good.

I guess these headers going into a 3" system would be a good combination?
They certainly seem to look and fit good.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
I bought these a similar set of these eBay headers when they first appeared in ebay and went through the fitment issues. They are great quality for a 2.5 inch collector shorty though I must say. I ended up running Accel header plugs with 90 plug boots and the thick reusable manifold gaskets; everything clears good and have yet to have a problem.
BTW they may be for sale

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
That surprises the hell out of me. 1 5/8" collectors when they're advertised as a 1.5"? Why would they shoot themselves in the foot like that?

Does anyone know if there is a Y-pipe that will bolt up to these? I might just have to buy a set if there is...

petey, can you measure the OD of the main tubes away from the flange somewhere? they might have expanded them to fit the flange. Thans

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Looks to me that the pipe steps down just after the flange, making it more like 1.5"
I would bet flowtech y will bolt right up.
All in all, they seem like a good option for a stock or mild car, and the stainless should last much longer than the mild steel ones offered at a similer price.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Alright folks I ended up being the test subject with these headers and hooking them up to an avaliable y pipe.
The answer is......these ebay headers are a complete chinesse ripooff. To the point that yes they are a complete copied design of the flowtechs. To the point that.....
The Flowtech 11102YFLT Y-pipe mounts up as if it were normal Flowtechs.
No modification, I had the y-pipe connected in 20 minutes.
So if someone is wanting to get stainless headers cheap that are a decent improvement over stock then these ebay headers with the flowtech y-pipe combination is a good cheap router.
But do realize you are supporting a chinesse company that has literaly stolen/copied the flowtech design.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
I think we all realise they are a Chinese knock-of, but most header manufacturers seem to be copying a single design anyway.
Did the O2 sensor fit ok?
Wonder if the Chinese make a Y pipe too?

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Haven't seen a y pipe from them so no telling. Also in regards to o2 sensor I'm carbed so couldn't tell you but each header has an already welded and plugged o2 bung at the collector and from looking at it appears an o2 sensor would have no issues going in there and having decent clearance.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
Could someone with these or the the Flowtech headers do me a favour?
I'm in Australia and my car is a Right Hand Drive conversion.
I'd appreciate if you measure the minimum distance between the right hand (factory passenger) side inner sub-frame and the headers.
Any photos would be appreciated. There is a photo above and I'm trying to estimate the spacing from that.

Re: 3rd Gen Stainless Headers on eBay
I'm not against buying cheaper Chinese stuff. I am against labor unions and restrictions that drive the cost of our products so high.
However, back on topic. I noticed something curious.
The shipper of the ebay stainless headers is Fontana California,
right next door to Orange California, where Dyno Don is.
Small world huh?
